Spanish teenager Rafael Nadal set a new record for consecutive clay-court wins with a 6-2 7-5 6-1 triumph over Robin Soderling at the French Open. Nadal's 54th straight victory broke the record set by Argentina's Guillermo Vilas in 1977.

I am afraid the news wasnt as good for Rusedski. He played awful I hear.

British number one Greg Rusedski lost in four sets to Chile's Paul Capdeville in the French Open first round.

Murray was defeated by an injury, once again.

Martina Hingis, making her first appearance at the Paris Open since 2001, has made it through to the 2nd round by defeating Lisa Raymond 6-2 6-2.

Did you see her match last Sunday evening? Ofcourse I did! Fantastic comeback! She was down 5-2 in the 3rd and last set. Her opponent, Washington (that's her name ) got 3 match points, but the Russian survived and came back to 5-3, broke (5-4), 5-5, broke again (5-6) to serve for the match and make it 5-7. The last two points were amazing.

Henin, Clijsters, Hantuchova are through to the 2nd Round as well.

Andy Murray played an awesome match, but the French are strong, as you wrote in your post Sunday. Monfils, Gasquet, Simon, all are talented French youngsters. Henman will play Tursunov in the next round. Do you get a Wimbledon deja-vu as well?

Serbia & Montenegro - Holland (3pm), Silverstone with Alonso as winner and Nadal winning the French Open with the men. I hope Sharapova comes far in the Women's Tournament, but I have a feeling Wimbledon will be more her thing. Just like Federer. Clijsters or Henin maybe?

We could be playing our 2nd Round match on that day, what a brilliant day!

Deja-vu indeed! Henman is out, so all British hopes are over for this year.

Its a good thing that the British GP starts an hour earlier than other European races. I won't miss any of Serbia - Holland. ..and Raikkonen will win! McLaren are typically very strong around Silverstone.

Dementieva was the first big one to leave the tournament. So far no other surprises, but Clijsters definitely have to play better if she wants to compete with the other for the title.
