The speech was, but I think he just forgot to stay in character. Because he was probably used to saying I rather than The Rock during his interviews and such over the past 2-3 months.

Well maybe he just wanted to be himself a little bit as well. He doesn't ALWAYS have to be in character.

In the ring he SHOULD always be in character, but oh well.

The Rock has been away for the last few months on a promotional tour to promote the Scorpion King.

And at Judgement Day, there was a hair vs. hair match between Kurt Angle and Edge. Basically that means the loser gets their head shaved bald. Obviously, Edge won. Kurt Angle tried to run away, but failed to succeed. On the SmackDown four days later, Angle showed up wearing the wig, but claiming that all his hair grew back in that short time. And since then, he's looked that damn ridiculous.

I just think he stepped out of charecter because it was the right thing to do, like vince did at the start of the show.

EXACTLY! Vince did the same thing. He wasn't talking like the jackass he portrays normally. He was talking as himself, as the real Vince McMahon. And The Rock was talking partly as his character, The Rock, and partly as himself, Duwayne Johnson. And there is nothing wrong with that.

Yep, i think vince's speach was a thanks for what you did for the company, and the rock's was a "U can kiss our ass for how u left it" in a way.

U want to know the really lame thing, the biggest match-up of this year and maybe in a LONG time, The Rock Vs. Hogan, was origianlly going to be Stone Cold Vs. Hogan. ANd He turned it down, that is what really sucks because that was a big match, why would he turn it down? Then he got stuck with Hall which is where everything went down.
