2 matches have been added so far:
WWE Champion Edge vs. John Cena - TLC Match
John Cena will get one more chance at Edge’s WWE Championship at Unforgiven. But it will be in a match that Edge has never lost, and one that Cena has never been in – a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match. And to make matters even tougher for Cena, the match will take place in Edge’s hometown of Toronto.
It is no secret that the WWE Championship means the world to John Cena. Ever since losing the gold to Rob Van Dam at ECW One Night Stand, Cena has been hell-bent on regaining the WWE Championship. It looked as though he had Edge right where he wanted him at SummerSlam, but Lita slipped the Rated R Superstar a pair of brass knuckles that eventually led to Cena’s demise.
Edge thought that would be the final chapter in the Edge vs. Cena story. He thought it was a happy ending for himself, just like he had predicted. But Cena drowned those thoughts, literally, last week on RAW from Bridgeport, Conn. Earlier in the evening, Lita tossed the WWE Championship belt into the Long Island Sound to reveal a brand new, Rated R WWE Championship belt. Cena attacked Edge later in the night and chased the Champion all the way to the same pier that the WWE Championship belt was tossed off of.
Cena threw Edge into a bulletin board, tossed him around into some bushes and then catapulted him off the pier and into the murky and polluted waters of the Long Island Sound. A distraught Edge floundered in the water until he was finally rescued by the Harbor Patrol.
The following week, with Shane McMahon calling the shots on RAW, Edge demanded that John Cena be fired from RAW. Cena came out holding a piece of paper in his hand and said that he wasn’t ready to go just yet. The paper was a contract, straight from the desk of SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long’s desk. Cena said that he would leave RAW and go to SmackDown, but before he does, he wanted one more opportunity at Edge’s WWE Championship. If Edge beat him again, then Cena would leave RAW. Edge agreed, but only under two conditions – he would name where and what type of match it would be.
Just a few moments later, Edge let his plans be known. Cena was in the middle of a match with a returning Chris Masters and had the Masterpiece in the dreaded STFU. Before Masters could tap out, Edge hit the ring and slammed Cena with a steel chair. Edge then retrieved a ladder from under the ring and blasted Cena right in the face. To finish him off, the Rated R Superstar sent his arch nemesis crashing through a table. Just to make sure he made himself clear, he explained that the match would be a Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match, and it would be at Unforgiven in his hometown of Toronto.
Will Edge be able to add another TLC victory to his resume and get Cena out of his life forever? Or will Cena emerge victorious from his first-ever TLC Match and regain the gold he craves with every ounce of his being? Tune in to Unforgiven, Sunday Sept. 17 on pay-per-view.
D-Generation X vs. The McMahons & Big Show - Hell in a Cell
Did a deranged Mr. McMahon pronounce D-Generation X’s death sentence when he ordered the duo to compete in a Hell in a Cell Match against himself, his son Shane and ECW World Champion Big Show at Unforgiven?
DX has been two thorns in the sides of the McMahons for several months. Week in and week out, their sophomoric antics have been getting under the skin of the Chairman and his son. The McMahons thought they had the perfect plan in place to take out DX at SummerSlam, but somehow, Shawn Michaels and Triple H were able to fight off the McMahons’ unlimited resources to emerge victorious.
Then, on the Aug. 21 edition of RAW, it looked as though DX finally made Mr. McMahon crack. DX said that many great men have left their marks. Columbus left his mark when he came to America, Neil Armstrong left his mark on the moon, and so DX followed in their footsteps and left their mark as well. First, HBK and The Game revealed that they had defaced Mr. McMahon’s private jet with the DX logo. Later in the evening, they also revealed that they had plastered WWE headquarters in Stamford, Conn. with their logo as well. After seeing the site of his headquarters defiled with DX green, Mr. McMahon looked like he was on the verge of tears. But DX wasn’t done yet.
The McMahons were finally ready to call it a night and got in their limo ready to head home after RAW. But before the limo could get more than a few feet away, the entire back end was ripped off. After they got out of the limo to see what was wrong, they noticed the DX logo on the limo as well. Mr. McMahon snapped as RAW went off the air.
As RAW originated from Atlantic City on Aug. 28, Shane McMahon revealed that his father was resting in a posh hotel suite, and that he would be the one calling the shots. Later in the evening, Shane was talking to Mr. McMahon on the phone, when the Chairman was interrupted by something at the door. He thought it was just room service, but an all-too familiar sound started to fill the air. DX has struck again. The duo sent over a pair of roosters, further infuriating Mr. McMahon. But it would be the Chairman who would laugh last on this night.
DX was ordered to face three hired guns from SmackDown in a Handicap Match – U.S. Champion Sir Finlay, Sir Regal and Mr. Kennedy. DX was able to overcome the numbers advantage for the win, but their night was far from over. ECW World Champion Big Show stormed the ring and began to dismantle both Triple H and Michaels. Big Show’s attack was followed up by Mr. McMahon himself, yielding a lead pipe. McMahon bashed in Triple H’s skull with his weapon of choice and knocked HBK out with a television camera. With both members of DX a bloody mess, Mr. McMahon announced that they would all face each other once again, but this time Big Show would join the McMahons and it would be in Hell in a Cell.
Both Triple H and Shawn Michaels have enjoyed success in the career-shortening Hell in a Cell, but will that matter at Unforgiven? The McMahons are the most powerful people in sports-entertainment and have unlimited resources at their disposal. Will this be DX’s death sentence? Tune in to Unforgiven Sunday, Sept. 17 on pay-per-view to find out.
