Big Grin Raw 2003 thread

I decided to make a new RAW thread, yes I know we still have a very old one somewhere around here. But I thought 2003 called for a new topic.

This topic can be used to post the weekly RAW results, as it can be used to discuss what happened or what will happen. Previews of next Monday's RAW can be posted as well.

I also sticked this topic, so it's even easier to find and let's face it, we (wretsling fans) gotta help each other to keep this thread fresh and updated throughout the whole year 2003.

With that said, I would like to start with the results of last Monday's RAW, the first one of the new year.

Monday January 6th 2003 Results:

We start with video of Triple H’s creation of an arm wrestling match against Scott Steiner, and Steiner’s subsequent arm-whooping of Triple H, so to speak.

The Raw music video plays, the Dudley Boys’ pyro explodes, and we are LIVE for the first Raw of 2003! Tonight, Triple H and Big Poppa Pump will go at it in a Pose Down Challenge, but first...

The Dudleys make their way to the ring. Bischoff’s music hits and the General Manager of Raw and Chief Morley come out on stage. Bischoff says there will be some changes in the new year.

Namely, a change in attitude. He rolls clips of the Storm/Regal vs. Lawler/JR match, including the Dudleys’ interference that allowed JR to hit Regal with the brass knuckles for the win. Bischoff says the Dudleys’ actions were a slap in his face, and it’s over right now. 2003 will be the Year of Eric Bischoff, and that means everyone in this company and all the fans will show him the respect that he deserves. And if you don’t, you will pay the consequences. That starts tonight when the Dudleys get a No DQ Handicap Match where they will be beaten to a bloody pulp. The only reason the referee is there is to count 1-2-3 when they get tired of beating the Dudleys’ asses.

Rosie, Jamal, and Rico come out, to the Dudleys’ delight.

Bischoff introduces Three Minutes’ partner, one of the 15 Raw Rumble Superstars: Batista. Flair and Batista come out and join Three Minutes.

Jamal, Rosie, Rico & Batista (& Flair, Regal, Storm, Bisch & Morley) defeated The Dudleys

The Dudleys start with a bit of an advantage while facing just Three Minutes. They are able to clear Rosie and Jamal from the ring and 3D Rico. But in comes Batista, who spears BuhBuh down hard, much to Bischoff’s delight. Rosie and Jamal come back in and stomp away on D-Von, while BuhBuh is tossed from the ring. Outside, Bischoff and Morley stomp on BuhBuh, while inside, D-Von is laid out.

Rosie and Jamal go out to take on BuhBuh while Batista bearhug slams D-Von.

Batista pins, but the ref refuses to count. Bischoff tells the ref to count it or he won’t have a happy new year. The ref reluctantly counts, but Batista pulls D-Von up to continue the match. BuhBuh runs in and starts punching away on Batista, but Rosie comes in and hits BuhBuh with a belly-belly. Ric Flair comes in and straps the Figure Four on BuhBuh, as Jamal goes up top. With Flair still locked in, Jamal hits a flying splash on BuhBuh. D-Von crawls up, only to be hit with the toss-up Samoan Drop. Batista pulls D-Von up and hits the sit-out powerbomb. He pins, but again the ref won’t count. He is forced to drop down and count the 1-2-3!

After the match, they all continue beating on the Dudleys. Morley picks up D-Von to let Bischoff smack him across the face. As Bischoff and crew begin walking up the ring, we hear JR pleading with King not to do something stupid because there are too many of them.

As we come back, Storm and Regal are at the announce booth, yelling at JR and Lawler.

They say they’d love to get revenge, but they have to continue teaching the Dudleys their lesson.

They go to the ring and start strapping on submissions. Regal puts on the brass knuckles and cracks BuhBuh in the face, busting him open.

In the back, Triple H is posing in the mirror in preparation. Flair comes in and says his project is working nicely. Trips says he's sick of people talking about Scott Steiner. His arm was killing him from Armageddon when he took on Steiner at arm wrestling, and he doesn't get respect for that? Flair says he's the best man going today, and tonight he'll humiliate Steiner. Was Scott Steiner ever a cover story in Flex magazine?

Steiner comes in and takes the magazine away. Steiner says he kicked Trips' ass at arm wrestling, he'll do it tonight in the Pose Down, and he'll do it at the Rumble for the Title. And if Triple H tries anything, he'll tear his head off.

Victoria and Molly defeated Trish & Jacqueline

Trish comes down, followed by her partner, Jacqueline. Their opponents come out together, Victoria and Molly, joined by Stevie Richards.

Jacqui and Victoria start off, with Jacqui hitting an armdrag. Victoria trips her up and stomps away, then hits shoulder thrusts in the corner. Tag to Molly. Molly goes second rope and hits an ax handle into Jacqui's back, then a handspring back elbow 1-2-shoulder up.

Molly knocks Trish off the apron, causing the ref to keep Trish from coming back in, allowing Molly to strap on a reverse chin lock, while Victoria straps on a Boston Crap, fully pulling Jacqui off the mat.

Jacqui is able to push Victoria into Molly and tag in Trish. Trish takes down Molly then starts kicking away on Victoria. Spinning heel kick by Molly 1-2-broken by Molly.

Molly and Jacqui fight outside. Molly runs in the ring just as Trish flips over Victoria and rolls her up for a pin. The ref is too busy with Molly to see the pin, allowing Richards to run in and knocks Trish backwards, allowing Victoria to grab the tights. Molly tells the ref to count, which he does 1-2-3!

In the back, Terri asks Booker and Goldust, the Tag Champs, what the new year will hold. Booker couldn't believe Bischoff called this the Year of Bischoff. If that's true, then we're in a lot of trouble. Booker says this will be the year of Goldust and Booker T, if you can dig that.

We cut to Bischoff's office, who screams that that is exactly what he's trying to stop. He grants Storm and Regal a Tag Title match tonight, screaming that he won't put up with this.

The Y2J Countdown hits 0.00 and out comes the Ayatollah, the Living Legend, the King of the World, Chris Jericho.

Ever since WrestleMania last year, he has had a recurring dream. He returns to WrestleMania and regains his World Championship. He doesn't care who it's against. He will get his shot, because it's the most important thing in his life. It's not about having to prove himself. It's not even about the Title. It's about being regarded as the best in the world. He will always be Chris Jericho: Highlight of the Night.

But he wants his Title shot, and the best way to get it is to win the Royal Rumble. He spoke with Eric Bischoff today, and as of right now, Chris Jericho has been entered in the Royal Rumble!

Moans fill the arena as the Show Stopper, the Icon, the Heart Break Kid, Shawn Michaels comes to the ring. He knows he and Jericho have gotten off to a rotten start, but he didn't come out here to upset Jericho. He came here to take issue with the idea that Jericho could be considered the best. He's not going to argue it. He's just going to inform Jericho of something. They have more in common than you can imagine, and in Jericho's mind, he probably believes he is the very best. But Jericho needs what Shawn always needed. Sometimes for guys like them, being the best just isn't enough. They need everyone in the arena and watching the show and everyone in the back to acknowledge them as the very best. And for that to happen, you have to volunteer to be the Number One entrant in the Rumble, outlast all others and win your shot, then go to WrestleMania and win the Title. Then, everyone will have no choice but to recognize Jericho as the best in the business.

Jericho says he knows Michaels is patronizing him, trying to remind everyone that Shawn Michaels is the only man to win the Rumble from the Number One spot. He's trying to insinuate that the only way to achieve greatness is to do what Michaels has already done. Well let Jericho remind Shawn of something. When Jericho won the Undisputed Title, he beat two men that HBK has never beaten, and he beat them on the same night. So don't start telling Jericho what it takes to be the best.

Michaels tells Jericho to prove it by going and volunteering to be the Number One entrant.

If Jericho doesn't, Michaels will go and volunteer and he'll show Jericho how it's done. Jericho asks if that means Michaels is in the match, and HBK confirms it. So if Jericho wants to prove he's the best, he'll have to go through Michaels.

Jericho says that if he has to go through Michaels anyway, why wait til the Rumble? Why not do it tonight? Jericho takes off his shirt and Michaels puts down the microphone.

RNN Breaking News! Randy Orton comes out in person and walks to the ring. He tells them to hold on. It's news that Shawn Michaels is in the Rumble, but the real news is that Randy Orton's shoulder is up to 93% mobility.

He asks if Michaels is jealous that his comeback story is more inspirational than Michaels' was.

Shawn may think he's a good looking guy, but there's a new Sexy Boy in town. Orton says that when his shoulder is back to 100%, Michaels won't want to be around.

Michaels clocks Orton, allowing Jericho to knock Michaels down from behind and attack. He tries to put on the Walls, but RVD runs down and knocks him away. Orton and Jericho team up on Van Dam, and are joined by Christian in the beating. BOOM! Kane's pyro explodes and the Big Red Machine clears Orton, Jericho and Christian from the ring.

WWE World Tag Team Championship: Lance Storm and William Regal defeated Booker T and Goldust to win the titles

Booker and Storm start off, with Booker getting a hammerlock, but Storm hitting back elbows. Booker clotheslines Storm down and scoop slams him. Knee drop by Booker, as we see Bischoff watching anxiously in the back. Tag to Goldust, who hits a flying fist. Knee drop by Goldust 1-kickout.

Storm hits a jawbreaker and tags in Regal. Goldust hits a back body drop. Regal comes back, but Goldust flips him and hits a shoulder block 1-2-kickout. Tag to Booker.

Chops in the corner by Booker, who then goes for the 10 Punch

But Storm guillotines him. Regal hits an uppercut and chokes Booker with his knee. Tag to Storm, who smashes Booker into the turnbuckles then elbows him down 1-2-shoulder up.

Sleeper by Storm. Tag to Regal who beats Booker down and makes a choking pin for a two count. Sleeper applied by Regal, but Booker fights up and out. Regal hits a running knee and tags in Storm 1-2-broken by Goldust.

Side headlock by Storm, but Booker tries to punch out, only for Storm to trip him and apply a forearm crossface. Again Booker fights up and out, then hits a reverse thrust kick. Tag to Goldust.

Uppercuts by Goldust to both men, then a clothesline to Storm and an Atomic Drop and a clothesline to Regal. Powerslam on Storm 1-2-broken by Regal. Booker punches away on Regal in one corner while Goldust beats on Storm in the other. Thump to Regal. Goldust lifts Storm in a bearhug and Booker calf kicks him out 1-2-Regal kicks the referee in the face.

Booker and Goldust clear the ring of Regal and Storm but fall from exhaustion as well.

As we come back, Booker gets a two count on Storm from none other than Chief Morley who came down to referee during the break.

Booker goes for a jumping calf kick, but Storm ducks and Booker nails Morley. He goes to pin, but there is no ref. Finally Nick Patrick runs down and counts 1-2-shoulder up! Tag to Goldust.

Goldust battles Storm into the corner and sets him for Shattered Dreams, but Regal knocks him away and allows Storm to run outside where Regal nails a clothesline. He rolls Goldust into the ring where Storm pins 1-2-shoulder up. Tag to Regal.

Side gutwrench suplex by Regal 1-2-broken by Booker. Forearms to the back by Regal. Tag to Storm, who hits a snapmare and applies a chinlock. Goldust uses the crowd to fight up and out of the hold, hitting a mini-chokeslam on Storm. Goldust crawls and tags in Booker.

Knockdowns by Booker, then a back body to Storm. He chops away on Storm in the corner, then hits a flapjack. Spinaroonie by Booker, then the scissors kick 1-2-Morley pulls Patrick out of the ring!

Regal puts on the brass knuckles and lays out Booker T and Goldust. He lays Storm on top of Booker. Morley comes back in 1-2-3! Regal and Storm are the new Tag Team Champions!

In the back, Regal and Storm talk with Bischoff and Morley about upholding his values as Tag Team Champions.

JR and King talk briefly about the Raw 10th Anniversary show that goes down a week from tomorrow. At the show there will be awards like "Best Entrance in Raw History", "Most Dangerous Move in Raw History", and *dun dun dun* "Greatest Match in Raw History."

Test (with Stacy) defeated Chris Nowinski (with D'Lo Brown)

Stacy and Test come down, followed by the odd pairing of Chris Nowinski and D'Lo Brown.

Earlier today, Nowinski asked D'Lo to be in his corner tonight. He understands that Stacy, the refs, and the fans are all prejudiced against such a smart black man. He understands because they all hate him for being intelligent as well.

Back live, Test tosses Nowinski away to get in shots on D'Lo, but Nowinski comes back and clubs Test in the back. He rams Test's shoulder into the ringpost and applies an armbar.

Test slams Nowinski and sees D'Lo putting the movies on Stacy again. He gets in between them before guillotining Nowinski. back in the ring, Test continues to take it to Nowinski. He hits a back eblow, then hits another to D'Lo. Full Nelson Slam by Test 1-2-shoulder up.

D'Lo grabs Test's leg and Nowinski runs at them, but Test sidesteps and Nowinski nails D'Lo. Test hits the spinning DDT 1-2-3!

After the match, D'Lo runs in and hits Test with the Sky High.

In the back, Jericho is talking to himself when Christian comes in. He tells Jericho that he has entered himself in the Rumble too. Jericho says that's great because Christian can help him win. Christian says he's going to win. Jericho says he's the first Undisputed Champion, but Christian has won every major Title except the big one. Jericho is a three-time tag champ, but Christian is a nine-time champ. Jericho says that makes Christian a nine-time loser, but Christian counters that Jericho's beard is stupid. Jericho badmouths Christian's tattoo, prompting Christian to pull out the "At least Shawn Michaels didn't kick my face off" card.

Finally Randy Orton comes in and breaks it up, saying they have nothing to fear with him in their corner tonight.

We see that, while Steiner has never been on the cover of Flex magazine, he did have a coverstory in Ironman magazine. We look at each man preparing for the Pose Down, which goes down next.

Triple H comes down first. Coach allows him to explain the rules of this Pose Down. Trips has been fed up with people talking about Scott Steiner this and Scott Steiner that. So before he beats Steiner at the Rumble for the Title, he's going to beat Steiner right here at his own game. So they're going to go pose-for-pose and the winner will be the one with the physique to be a World Champion. He can't let all the fans judge because they're too jealous of him, so he's going to pick out six people that he deems suitable to judge a body building event. He looks around and pulls out the six guys who just happen to be sitting down and not screaming to be picked.

He gives Coach a piece of paper and tells him to call out three mandatory poses for them. As the six judges take their seats in the ring, Trips shows them their cards, one which says Scott Steiner, the other which has the Triple H logo. Whomever they deem has the better physique, they will hold up that card.

Steiner comes out and Coach reminds them that you only get 15 seconds for each pose. Triple H takes off his jacket to reveal his Heavyweight Title belt that he forgot to take off. He takes it off, waving it right under Steiner's face.

First pose: front double bicep. Trips stretches and attempts his pose a few times, whereas Steiner just stands and flexes.

Second pose: side flex. Trips does his pose, while Steiner does his little taunt. Trips catches a glimpse of Steiner's bicep and loses concentration.

Third pose: most muscular. The two men start flexing in each other's face, almost going at it a few times.

Judge #1: Triple H
Judge #2: Triple H
Judge #3: Triple H
Judge #4: Triple H
Judge #5: Triple H
Judge #6: Triple H

There you have it, your unanimous winner, Triple H. Steiner knocks Coach away and takes the mic. He yells at the judges, calling it a set up. He asks all the freaks in Phoenix to decide who the real winner is, and they pop for Steiner, hollering because they hear him.

Trips gets the mic and says he doesn't need to go on the turnbuckle and get some idiots to tell him something he already knows. The judging panel said he was the winner, and that's as fair as any panel has ever been. He knows Steiner is embarassed, and he knows that body building is a subjective sport based on opinion. And these mens' opinion was that Triple H is better.

So what could be more objective? How about... push-ups? Trips says they should go one-for-one in a push-up contest.

They go face to face and start doing push-ups.

They get to ten, when the judges leap up and start beating down on Steiner! Steiner eventually fights up and starts knocking them away. Overhead suplex to one, then a military press slam to another that leaves Triple H amazed.

Kane & RVD defeated Y2J & Christian

Jericho and Christian come out, seemingly having made up. They are joined by Randy Orton. RVD comes out, followed by Kane, followed by their special guest, Shawn Michaels.

As we return, a four-man brawl has already begun. RVD tosses Jericho out, then Kane slams Christian out on top of him. RVD sommersaults over the ropes onto the pile.

In the ring, RVD and Jericho start off, with RVD taking Jericho down and going up top, but Christian tosses him to the floor while Orton distracts the ref.

Christian tags in and clubs away on RVD. He smashes Van Dam's face into the mat. Tag to Jericho, who flips Jericho and hits three elbow drops 1-2-kickout.

Snapmare by Jericho, who wrenches back on RVD's arms. Van Dam uses the crowd to fight up and out of the hold, but Jericho pulls him back down and keeps him from tagging. Tag to Christian.

Punches by RVD, then the mule kick. Christian applies a front facelock to try to keep Van Dam from his corner, but RVD pushes Christian back and tags. Jericho however was able to distract the ref and keep him from seeing the tag.

As the ref tries to keep Kane from the ring, Randy Orton pulls Van Dam outside and beats him down. Shawn Michaels runs over and gives Orton some Sweet Chin Music. Jericho tosses Michaels into the stairs and goes into the ring.

Van Dam is able to ram Christian's shoulders into the ringpost and take down Jericho with spinning heel kicks. Tag to Kane. Clothesline in the corner to Christian. Big Boot to Jericho. Sidewalk slam to Christian 1-2-broken by Jericho.

Christian and Jericho go for the suplex, but instead Kane suplexes them both. He goes up top and hits Christian with the flying clothesline. He calls for the end, but Jericho interrupts him. While Hebner forces Jericho from the ring, Christian low blows Kane and pins 1-2-shoulder up.

Jericho comes back with chairs and they go for a ConChairTo, but Kane ducks and they smack the chairs against each other. Michaels pulls Jericho from the ring and they start to fight up into the stands.

Van Dam goes up top and hits a flying spin kick on Christian, then Kane chokeslams him.

RVD goes up top and hits the Five Star, and Kane pins 1-2-3!

In the back, Bischoff and Morley are still congratulating with Storm and Regal, saying he is glad with the way Raw turned out. Next week will be better, with Regal taking on Jerry Lawler.

Bischoff gets a phone call and suddenly looks very down. That, he says, was Vince McMahon's secretary. Vince is going to be on Raw next week...

Excellent results, John. I love how you add the pictures in there. How did you gather such detailed results? I thought you couldn't watch the show. And wwe.com doesn't give very detailed results.

Yes, better late than never ... due to obvious reasons ...

RAW Results 13th January

We start with Bischoff and Chief Morley waiting for Vince McMahon's return in the parking lot. Bischoff says he can't afford any unruly Superstars today. Earl Hebner comes up and says that the referees are being mistreated and they are considering a strike. Morley takes Hebner away to discuss the issue. Scott Steiner comes up and tells Bischoff that he can't wait for the Rumble and he wants Triple H now. Bischoff says he can have Triple H in a Benchpress Contest, but Steiner says he's through playing games.

The Raw music video plays, the pyro explodes, and we are LIVE at Mohegan Sun for the last Raw before the Royal Rumble and the first Raw in a long time to be graced with Vince McMahon's presence.

The benchpress weights have already been set up for later tonight.

WWE Women's Championship - Hardcore Rules - Victoria defeated Trish Stratus & Jacqueline to keep her title

Trish Stratus comes out to face Jacqueline and Victoria in a Triple Threat Hardcore match for the Women's Title.

The tree start out looking at each other, then run to the corners where trashcans are set up with hardcore objects. Victoria finds a Trish Stratus cutout and can't believe it, allowing Trish to attack her from behind. Jacqui takes Trish out and then slams Victoria down.

Steven Richards pulls Jacqui out of the ring, leaving Victoria and Trish.

Stevie tosses a kendo stick in for Victoria but overthrows it. Trish gets it and hits Victoria three times. Victoria comes back with a scoop slam onto a trashcan lid, but she misses the moonsault. Jacqui runs in and rolls Victoria up 1-2-kickout. Backslide 1-2-shoulder up. Inside cradle 1-2-broken by Trish.

Stevie pulls Jacqui out of the ring and smashers her into the security barrier. Then Victoria drop toeholds Trish onto the ropes where Stevie smacks her with a trashcan lid!

1-2-3! Victoria retains her Women's Title.

After the match, Trish begins attacking Victoria. Stevie comes in to help, but Jacqui heads him off. Stevie takes care of Jacqui and hits Trish with the Ste-Vie-T. Richards holds Trish in a dragon sleeper as Victoria goes second rope with a kendo stick, but The Hurricane runs down and forces them from the ring.

In the back, Bischoff and Morley are still waiting. Bischoff wonders if Vince will be happy with what he's done to Raw. The Dudleys come up to them face to face. BuhBuh talks about how Bischoff and Morley have cost them the Tag Titles, fed Spike to Batista, and last week had them beaten up by eight men. BuhBuh shoves Bischoff, causing Morley to step between them, saying that if you have a problem with Bischoff you go through him. The Dudleys have no problem with this and attack Morley. Bischoff gets security to restrain the Dudleys.

BuhBuh wonders aloud if Stephanie needs a new tag team on SmackDown, so Bischoff suspends them.

Tonight we'll see an Over The Top Challenge between Chris Jericho, Batista, Kane, and Rob Van Dam, as a little Royal Rumble preview.

Test and Maven defeated D'Lo Brown and Chris Nowinski

Test comes down with Stacy and his tag partner Maven. D'Lo Brown and Nowinski come down to face them.

Test and D'Lo start, but D'Lo immediately tags in Nowinski. Test elbows Nowinski down and smacks D'Lo. D'Lo comes in and takes Test down, allowing Nowinski to stomp away. Big boot by Test, then a clothesline to D'Lo. Tag to Maven. Double back elbow to Nowinski 1-2-shoulder up.

Spinning heel kick by Maven, then a dropkick 1-2-kickout. D'Lo clubs Maven in the back, so Maven knocks D'Lo from the apron. D'Lo guillotines him and Nowinski spinebusters him down. Tag to D'Lo. Another spinebuster, this one by D'Lo 1-2-shoulder up.

Maven tries to fight back, but Nowinski makes a blind tag. Maven suplexes D'Lo down, only for Nowinski to hit an elbow drop. Nowinski wrenches Maven's back over the ropes, then hits an underhook front slam 1-2-broken by Test. Tag to D'Lo.

D'Lo clubs Maven down repeatedly, then hits a scoop slam. D'Lo wrenches Maven's shoulder back, but that doesn't keep Maven from flipping over D'Lo and tagging in Test.

Test with clotheslines to D'Lo, then a tilt-a-whirl on Nowinski and D'Lo. Sidewalk slam to Nowinski. He sets D'Lo for the pump handleslam, but Nowinski pulls D'Lo out. Clothesline to D'Lo and the Test Drive to Nowinski.

He runs at D'Lo for the Big Boot, but D'Lo ducks and Test smashes his testicles on the ropes. Maven comes in and D'Lo Sky Highs him, but Maven is not the legal man and can not be pinned. D'Lo yells at the ref, so Stacy gets on the apron and yells at D'Lo. This distracts D'Lo long enough for Test to come back and finally hit Brown with the Big Boot 1-2-3!

In the back, Bischoff is on the phone with someone when he sees a limo ride up. He awaits its occupant.

During the break, the limo door opened and out came... Mean Gene Okerlund!

Bischoff asks what the hell he's doing here. Okerlund says he has an announcement about the Raw Anniversary show. Bischoff reminds him that that's tomorrow and tells him to not be stupid. Okerlund says that if Bischoff wasn't so stupid a few years ago, they might be having a Nitro reunion instead.

Jericho comes up and begs to be given the Number One spot in the Rumble. Bischoff says he doesn't want to because he wants to see Jericho win. He tells Jericho to prove something in the Over The Top Challenge and then they'll talk.

We cut to an F-View camera of lockerroom where Lance Storm and William Regal are sitting. Storm tells him to get ready. Regal says he's been engrossed in Lawler's new book and all the stories about his wives leaving him and his children hating him. Storm tells him not to take Lawler lightly, but Regal pats his tights and says that proper planning prevents piss poor performance. Oooh, nice aliteration.

We cut to JR and Lawler. JR tells King to be careful, but Lawler says he agrees with Regal's statement on proper planning.

William Regal defeated Jerry Lawler via DQ

We come back, and Jerry Lawler is already in the ring, waiting for William Regal. Regal comes out, along with Storm, their flags, and a copy of Lawler's book. Regal steps in the ring and gets a microphone. He opens Lawler's book and reads a passage about the King being a "court jester" in the bedroom.

Regal tries to start the match, but the referee stops him and demands to check his tights. Two more refs run down when Regal refuses. They back him into the corner and search him, finding the brass knuckles. As the match begins, the two refs come outside and check Storm, where they find another pair of knuckles, upon which they send Storm to the back.

While this is all going on, Lawler pulls a chain out of his boots and wraps it around his hand. He nails Regal, knocking him out. He pins Regal, but the ref sees the chain on his hand and calls for Lawler to be DQed.

Jeff Hardy defeated Raven (and thereby enters the Rumble)

We return to see Jeff Hardy come out. We are told that the winner of this match will get the 15th and final Raw spot in the Royal Rumble. Raven, who attacked Jeff and the Hurricane last night on Heat, comes down for the first time on Raw in a while.

Raven starts with a shoulder block and an early two count. School boy by Jeff for another two count. Victory roll by Jeff for yet another two count. Jeff clotheslines Raven and they both fall to the floor outside. Jeff rolls Raven into the ring and goes up top, but Raven rolls out of the ring and wraps Jeff's leg around the ringpost.

Back in the ring, Raven stomps away on Jeff's knees. Jeff boots him down and goes for a moonsault, but Raven rolls away 1-2-shoulder up. Raven goes back to kicking away at Jeff's knees. Step-over toehold by Raven, but Jeff kicks him away and then hits a mule kick.

Jawbreaker by Jeff, then a clothesline. Spinning heel kick by Jeff, followed with the double legdrop 1-2-kickout. Raven looks for the Raven Effect, but Jeff pushes him away. he goes to run up the turnbuckles, but his leg gives out. Raven pins 1-2-shoulder up.

Raven again goes for the Raven Effect, but Jeff holds the ropes and Raven slams himself down. Jeff successfully climbs the turnbuckles and hits the Swanton Bomb!

1-2-3! Jeff Hardy is the Royal Rumble.

In the back, another limo pulls up, this one bigger and blacker than Mean Gene's. Vince McMahon wastes no time in getting out, and Bischoff wastes even less in greeting him. Vince says he's just here to make an announcement, nothing more. He runs into Randy Orton, who tells him that he's up to 94%. Vince congratulates him, but smacks him on the shoulder and walks off.

"No Chance" hits for the first time in what seems like forever, and the Chairman of World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon struts his way down his ramp into his ring.

He came here for one reason. Ten years ago, he had a vision. Suddenly the Dudleys come out and go right into the ring. BuhBuh appologizes for coming out and interrupting Vince. They know this is a big night, but earlier, they got suspended and they don't know where else to turn. They all have a tremendous amount of respect for Vince, but his choice of Eric Bischoff to be the General Manager of Raw was poor. Bischoff is a piece of crap. BuhBuh speaks for himself, his brother, the boys in the back, and all the fans when he says that Bischoff doesn't appreciate talent or hard work.

Vince cuts him off and says that he doesn't appreciate the two of them interrupting his announcement. If anyone is going to throw their weight around, it's Vincent Kennedy McMahon. He reinstates the Dudleys and grants them a Tag Title match against Regal and Storm at the Royal Rumble. But there is one thing he asks in return. Somewhere during their match at the Rumble, he wants to hear the phrase "D-Von, get the tables!"

Contented, the Dudleys leave the ring.

Vince goes back to his speech. Ten years ago, he may have revolutionized this industry. The Y2J Countdown hits 0.00 and out comes the Ayatollah, the Savior, the Living Legend, the King of the World, Chris Jericho. Jericho comes in the ring, beaming. He says it's great to see Vince again, but Vince isn't impressed. He says that they have a huge problem. He has been denied the Number One spot in the Royal Rumble. Even though Bischoff said he'd consider it if he won the Over The Top Challenge, that's not enough. He must know for sure that he is the best in the business. Vince is the only man who has enough power to help him. Vince tells him to shut his mouth. Vince says that the winner of the Over The Top Challenge gets to choose his number in the Rumble. Jericho talks about how he's going to pick Number One after he wins. Vince says he has to correct himself, because the winner will pick any number except Number One, because Shawn Michaels has already taken that spot. Vince tells Jericho to leave the ring before he takes him out of the Rumble all together.

Now then, all Vince wanted to do was talk about something dear to his heart. Eric Bischoff's music hits, and the Raw GM, upset, walks down the ramp and into the ring. Bischoff says he doesn't understand how Vince could make him GM of the show and then undermine his authority. Vince screams that he's had enough of this crap. He came out to make an announcement about the Raw Tenth Anniversary show, but he keeps being interrupted by people Bischoff can't control and now Bischoff himself. Perhaps it's time for a public job evaluation.

Vince asks the fans who thinks Bischoff has done a good job. They boo. Vince says he disagrees. Bischoff has done a fine job. But that's not why he hired him. He hired Bischoff to do a great job, to take Raw and turn it upside-down and inside-out. He hired Bischoff to revolutionize Raw, but he hasn't even had any evolution. He hired Bischoff to shake it to its core and choke it. He gives Bischoff 30 days to turn Raw around. And if he doesn't, Bischoff will hear those famous words:

"YOU'RRRRRE FIIIIIIIRRRED!"

As we return, Bischoff asks Vince for a little more time. Bischoff makes the claim that there isn't another man on the planet who can replace him. Vince asks if that's right, and out of the limo steps Shane O'Mac!

Vince reminds Bischoff that he has 30 days.

[b]Lance Storm & Booker T fight to a No Contest/b]

Booker comes down with Goldust, and Storm comes down with Regal. Hebner again searches Storm and Regal before the match, but after not finding anything, he allows Regal to stay.

Booker starts with a side headlock and a shoulder block. Storm hits back elbows, but Booker comes back with a clothesline. Scoop slam by Booker, then a knee drop 1-2-kickout.

Storm beats Booker into the corner, then smothers him with his knee. Booker rolls him up, but Storm rolls through. Booker hits Storm with a flapjack, then a reverse thrust kick 1-2-kickout.

Armbar by Booker, but Storm forces him into the corner and hits shoulder thrusts. Hard whip into the corner by Storm 1-2-shoulder up. Backbreaker by Storm 1-2-kickout. Storm lays knees into Booker's back, then applies a sleeper.

Clubs to the back by Storm, but Booker hits a clothesline, then another, and a back bodydrop. Chops by Booker. He goes for the calf kick, but Storm ducks and he hits Hebner. Regal takes Booker out, but Goldust attacks him. The Dudleys run down and start to dismantle their future opponents Storm and Regal, while Hebner calls for the DQ bell.

The Hurricane defeated Stevie Richards

Earlier tonight, The Hurricane saved Trish from being completely beaten by Stevie Richards and Victoria. Not only did that set up this Hurricane vs. Stevie Richards match, but it has also caused Trish to accompany Hurricane to the ring.

Stevie starts by beating Helms into the corner. Hurricane comes back with a suplex and a couple jumping clotheslines. Sleeper slam by Helms 1-2-shoulder up.

Hurricane lets Stevie run into the turnbuckles, then hits the sommersault leg drop. Helms readies himself across the ring, but Victoria grabs his legs. Trish runs over and takes Victoria out, allowing Helms to hit the Eye of the Hurricane!

1-2-3!

After the match, Hurricane beat Stevie out of the ring and Trish did the same to Victoria.

Coach introduces Scott Steiner for the Bench Press Challenge. Steiner says that he beat Triple H in an arm-wrestling match and in the pose down, and now Triple H wants him to take part in this challenge? Steiner says he knows how much he can bench, but tonight we'll find out how much Triple H can. He tells the guys to put 585 pounds on the bar.

We come back as Triple H makes his way out, in a full suit. He walks right past the equipment and goes to the ring. He says he doesn't give a crap about bench pressing, arm wrestling, or pose downs. He has been stringing Steiner along for the past weeks. All he cares about is the World Heavyweight Championship. It says that he is the best at wrestling. In this ring in this world, he is the best there is.

Steiner may think he's the guy who can knock Triple H off the top, but it's been a long list of people who thought they were the man. Hogan, Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, Austin, The Rock. All of them thought that they were the one who would knock him down, but none of them succeeded. What makes Steiner think he's different than everyone else? Nothing. He's the same as everyone else. He'll talk big until they get to the Rumble when Triple H will do what he always does. He will make a mockery of Steiner and prove that he is everything he says he is.

Steiner says that if Trips is that damn good then why wait another week? These fans didn't come to see a bench press contest. They came to see Steinre kick Triple H's ass. Steiner leaves the equipment and starts walking to the ring. Meanwhile Triple H takes off his jacket and tie.

Steiner dives in the ring and Triple H start beating him down. Belly-belly by Steiner, then a toss. He tears Triple H's shirt off and starts beating him with his own shoes.

Triple H tries to leave the ring, but Steiner tears his belt off, causing Triple H's pants to fall down. Steiner gives Triple H a back body drop, then whips him over the top to the outside. Triple H, now in his underwear, starts backing up the ring, while Steiner poses with the Title belt.

Over The Top Challenge - Chris Jericho defeated Rob Van Dam, Kane & Batista

Kane starts out beating on Jericho, while Batista hammers on RVD. Kane leaves Jericho to beat on Batista, while RVD goes to Jericho. Kane tries to push Batista over the top. Meanwhile Jericho is catapulted onto the turnbuckle and pushed over, but Jericho is able to stay on the apron and come back inside.

Back suplex by Jericho on RVD, while Batista stomps on Kane in the corner. Batista picks up Kane and tries to force him over the top, but can't. Meanwhile, Jericho sidesteps RVD, who rams his shoulder into the ringpost. Jericho and Batista team up to try and flip Kane over the ropes, but RVD kicks Jericho down.

Big boot by Jericho, who goes second rope and takes down RVD. Kane tries to clothesline Batista over the top, but Batista clotheslines him down instead. Batista chokes Kane in one corner while RVD kicks away on Jericho in the other.

RVD takes Jericho down with a heel kick, as Kane boots Batista down. RVD gets a stomp in on Batista, causing Kane to stare him down. Jericho goes up top and leaps for RVD, but Kane catches him in a double choke, only for Batista to club him in the back.

RVD runs at Jericho, but Jericho sidesteps and throws RVD over the top, but RVD saves himself and comes back in, taking down an unsuspecting Jericho. Suddenly Batista explodes, taking RVD and Kane down with running shoulder blocks.

Batista continues his explosion by clotheslining Kane over the top and out of the ring! Kane is eliminated!

Batista hits Jericho with the sit-out powerbomb, but RVD catches him from behind and flips him over the top! Batista is eliminated! RVD goes up top, but Batista knocks him down, allowing Jericho to push him over the top!

Jericho wins the Over The Top Challenge!

Jericho takes a mic and says that, even though it makes sense for him to pick 30 since he can't pick Number One, he is going to take spot number two! Immediately Shawn Michaels runs down the ramp and into the ring. Jericho tosses him over the ropes, but HBK grabs the ropes and flips himself back in, tossing the unsuspecting Jericho over the top and to the floor.

Well another very big step towards Austin's return!

And what about the Steiner story line??? Can someone say Four Horsemen perhaps?

RAW Results January 20th

We start with a video recap of Vince McMahon's public chewing-out of Eric Bischoff for his lack of innovation on Raw, and his subsequent ultimatum: make Raw great in 30 days, or Shane McMahon will take over. Then, last night, Bischoff made the announcement that he will have a shocking bombshell tonight.

The Raw music video plays, but the pyros don't explode, and we are LIVE in Rhode Island, the day after the Royal Rumble, the first day on the Road to WrestleMania, and T-Minus 23 days for Eric Bischoff!

Triple H's music hits, and the World Heavyweight Champion comes out, bandaged forehead, bruised eyesocket, hurt ribs and all.

Last night, we went 30 minutes with Scott Steiner, and at the end, Steiner was embarrassed so badly that he had to hit Triple H with a sledgehammer to end his misery. Triple H says that Steiner is a disgrace, and that there won't be a rematch.

The sirens blare and Big Poppa Pump runs into the ring and grabs the microphone.

He didn't come out here to talk trash; he's here to finish what he started. That is his Title, and all the freaks know it. He wants his rematch, and he wants it tonight.

Trips says that he would like nothing better than to embarass Steiner again tonight, but he has a note from his doctor. It says that he hasn't been cleared to wrestle tonight, after Steiner hit him with the sledgehammer. Flair takes the mic and says that if Steiner really wants to fight, his man Batista will tear Steiner apart.

With that, Batista marches down the ramp. As Steiner turns to yell at Batista, Triple H starts attacking Steiner. Steiner comes back with a clothesline, and another that sends Triple H over the top and to the outside. Batista gets on the apron to yell at Steiner, but Flair pulls him off and the three of them back up the ramp, yelling at Steiner.

Apparently Jeff Hardy requested to fight RVD tonight, after being eliminated by Van Dam in the Rumble last night. ...but Justin Credible and Raven get cut...

Rob Van Dam defeated Jeff Hardy

RVD starts with a trip, but Jeff rolls away from an elbow drop follow. Jeff hits a kick in the gut and a jawbreaker. Headscissors by Jeff, then a front dropkick that eventually sends RVD out of the ring. Jeff tries to run the rail, but RVD trips him and hits a legdrop.

Back in the ring, RVD tries to slingshot in, but Jeff dropkicks him out of the air. Jeff hits a diving forearm and gets a two count. Legdrop pin by Jeff 1-2-shoulder up.

Jeff hits the Whisper in the Wind 1-2-shoulder up.

RVD hits a rolling front slam and follows it with a quick moonsault.

Van Dam goes up top for the Five Star, but Jeff rolls away in time. Now it is Jeff who goes up top, and he hits the Swanton!

1-2-kickout! Jeff looks for the Twist of Fate, but RVD drops it into a backslide 1-2-3!

Jeff is visibly frustrated with not being able to get a victory, so RVD extends a hand. Jeff slaps his hand away, so Van Dam does the thumb-point, causing Jeff to attack him and knock him out of the ring. Jeff grabs a chair, but can't bring himself to hit Van Dam.

In the back, Christian and Nowinski talk about their experiences in the Rumble. Christian says he never should have trusted Edge. Bischoff comes by, and they beg to know what his surprise is.

Bischoff says he's happy to be working under pressure because it brings out the best in him, and this bombshell shows it. But he's not going to tell them.

We come back to find Scott Steiner storming through the halls. Randy Orton grabs him and asks if he heard Steiner right when he said he would be the next World Heavyweight Champion. He says that Steiner is wrong, just like his doctor was wrong when he said Randy would be out a whole year. Steiner grabs Orton and shoves him against the wall, threatening to send Orton back to the doctor. Orton says that he's only 95% back and can't risk a setback. Steiner says that his shoulder may be 95%, but Orton is 100% asshole.

In the back, Chief Morley says the Bischoff Administration wants to have a better relationship with the referees. With that in mind, he wants Nick Patrick to review his own job at the Rumble last night when the Dudleys won the Tag Titles. He plays a tape of the match's ending, when D-Von knocked out Lance Storm with the brass knuckles and got the 1-2-3. Patrick says he didn't see the shot, but if he had he would have DQed the Dudleys immediately. Morley says Patrick has to go and appologize.

Chief Morley leads Nick Patrick into the ring and gets a microphone. They are here so that Nick Patrick can make a public appology for the mistake he made in last night's World Tag Team Title Match.

Nick takes the mic and says that he made a mistake. He did not see the punch with the brass knuckles, and so he appologizes to everyone.

Morley says that, now that Patrick has admitted his mistake, he asks him to reverse his decision and award the match to Lance Storm and WIlliam Regal. Patrick says that it is company policy that all referee decisions are final.

Morley says that if that is the case, he needs to see the Dudleys in the ring right now. The D-Bombs go off and the Tag Team Champions come out and go to the ring.

Now that Nick Patrick has admitted his mistake, Chief Morley asks the Dudleys to, in the interest of fairness, forfeit their Titles back to Regal and Storm immediately. D-Von asks if Morley is out of his mind. He is getting nothing, and moreover, can go to hell. BuhBuh says that they are not going to just give up their Titles. After all, it was Regal who brought the brass knuckles into the ring. Morley says that is why he interfered in their match in the first place. BuhBuh says that is a load of crap, and the fans agree.

Morley demands to have the Titles, before they regret it. BuhBuh says that he's nothing more than a kiss-ass, washed-up, ex-pornstar. Morley again demands the Titles. BuhBuh doesn't regret punching Morley last night, nor does D-Von regret hitting Storm with the brass knuckles. But there is one thing they do regret, and that is not taking Vince's advice. Morley grabs the belts, but D-Von punches Morley down. BuhBuh reminds Morley what Vince's words were: "D-Von, get the tables!"

D-Von does just that, and sets a table up in the ring. They set for a 3D, but Lance Storm and William Regal burst into the ring from the crowd! They knock D-Von out of the ring and flapjack BuhBuh through a table. Morley gets up and says that tonight, there will be a Tag Title match between the Dudleys and Regal & Storm. In fact, why not have it begin right now?

WWE World Tag Tam Championship William Regal and Lance Storm defeated The Dudleyz and take the titles

Morley tells Nick Patrick to have the bell rung. Morley says that Patrick's decision stood, because the referee's make the rulings, but he makes the matches, so Patrick had better ring the bell. Patrick reluctantly calls for the bell, and William Regal pins BuhBuh. Morley demands that Patrick count, and he again reluctantly does 1-2-3! Regal and Storm are the new Tag Team Champions!

Trish Stratus and Hurricane defeated Victoria and Stevie Richards

This match will be in the rarely used Mixed-Tag format, as opposed to Intergender.

The men start, with Hurricane getting a hiptoss. Stevie comes back with an elbow and a scoop slam. Victoria tags herself in, meaning that Hurricane has to tag out. Victoria however, pushes Hurricane repeatedly and then slaps him. Helms grabs Victoria, causing Stevie to run in, but Helms lets go of Victoria and takes Stevie down. Tag to Trish.

Trish takes Victoria down with a Lou Thesz Press. They battle into the corner where Trish hits a headscissors. Trish beats on Victoria in the corner, but Stevie guillotines him. Victoria kicks her down 1-2-kickout.

Victoria tosses Trish by her hair, then scoop slams her. Victoria goes for a sommersault legdrop slingshot, but Trish rolls away. Tag to Stevie. Hurricane tries to come in since Stevie tagged in, but the ref keeps him out as he has not been tagged in. Stevie grabs Trish for a suplex, but Helms runs in and hits Stevie with a karatekick. Trish picks up Victoria and hits the Stratusfaction!

1-2-3!

In the back, Eric Bischoff is on his cell phone. He asks to speak with Vince. He says that since he is speaking to Vince's personal secretary, she should be able to get a hold of him, and when she does, to tell Vince to be watching Raw because his bombshell is coming up next.

Raw's GM and marked man Eric Bischoff comes down the ramp and into the ring to announce his big surprise. He can tell by our faces that we're dying to find out what his bombshell is. We're not alone, because right now, Vince McMahon himself is watching, just as excited as everyone else.

Last week, Vince told Bischoff to grab Raw by the throat, turn it inside out, and shake it to its foundations. He wasn't sure what to do, until he went to the Raw Tenth Anniversary show.

A replay is shown of the show, when Stone Cold Steve Austin was announced as Raw Superstar of the Decade, and Vince's subsequent announcement that Austin was not invited.

Bischoff says that that begs the question, "Why wasn't the biggest Superstar in Raw history even invited to the show?" Because Austin walked out on Vince McMahon. Why would Austin walk out on Vince? Well we know Vince's side of the story. We know JR's side of the story. We have heard all of the Superstars' opinions. But we have not heard Stone Cold's side of the story.

So this morning, he stopped the presses at Raw magazine so that Steve Austin can tell everyone his side of the story.

But that's not his bombshell. And it's not the only idea he got from the Anniversary show. Video is rolled of the Austin Beer Truck incident, when Austin showered Vince, Shane and Rock with beer.

There is only one man in the world today who can grab Raw by the throat, turn it inside out, and shake it to its core. And so he publically invites Stone Cold Steve Austin to come back at No Way Out and take his rightful place at Monday Night Raw!

Booker T & Goldust defeated Three Minute Warning

Goldust and Jamal start off, but Goldust cannot shoulder block the big man. He goes for a Sunset Flip, but Jamal blocks, but Goldust rolls away from the sit down. Tag to Booker as they double elbow Jamal 1-2-shoulder up.

Chops by Booker, but Jamal kicks him in the face and clotheslines him down. Booker drags Jamal, but the big man knocks Booker into the corner and beats him down. Big boot by Booker, then a superkick. Tag to Goldust.

Goldust goes second rope and hits a flying fist, then an armdrag and an armbar. Tag to Booker, who wrenches Jamal's arm. Jamal knees himself out of the hold and tags in Rosie.

Clubs by Rosie, then headbutts him down. Elbow by Rosie, but Booker catches him with a spinning heel kick 1-2-shoulder up. Tag to Jamal. Booker hits another spinning heel kick. Tag to Goldust.

Goldust comes in with lots of punches and a back bodydrop to Jamal. He sets Rosie for the Shattered Dreams while the ref is distracted by Booker and Rico outside. Jamal hits Goldust with a superkick before he can hit the finisher, and Rosie follows with a splash.

Choke on the ropes by Rosie, allowing Rico to hit Goldust from ringside. Eye rake by Rosie, then a chinlock.

Low knee by Rosie, who tags in Jamal 1-2-kickout.

Sleeper by Jamal, but Goldust elbows out, only for Jamal to hit a powerslam 1-2-shoulder up. Big boot by Goldust, who then ducks a corner splash and tags in Booker.

Booker attacks Rosie, then clotheslines Jamal. Spinning heel kick to Rosie and a forearm to Jamal. He tries to hit Rico with a jumping calf kick, but Rico gets out of the way and Booker lands on the ropes. Rosie and Jamal look for a doubleteam on Booker, but he counters into a Double DDT. Booker hits the Spinaroonie and a spinebuster on Jamal 1-2-broken by Rosie.

Booker attacks Rosie in the corner, but Jamal does the same to Goldust. Jamal comes over and catches Booker with a Superkick to the face. Jamal goes up top for a flying splash, but Booker rolls out of the way!

Rico gets on the apron and holds Booker, but sidesteps Rosie, who nails Rico. Booker knocks him out of the ring and hits the scissors kick on Jamal 1-2-3!

Test and Chris Jericho fight to a non contest

Just like Martin Luther King, Chris Jericho had a dream. That dream was stolen from him unfairly, and he bets the assclowns love it. But retribution will be paid by Shawn Michaels, and by Test. So tonight, he will teach Test a lesson.

Jericho runs in the ring and Test immediately clotheslines him down. Back bodydrop by Test. Test throws Jericho over the ropes, but he flips back in, as one does at the Rumble. Jericho hits Test with a missile dropkick, then goes to mounted punches.

Jericho knees Test down, then hits him with a back suplex. Jericho locks in a sleeper, but Test fights out and starts hitting back elbows. Punches in the corner by Test, but Jericho hits a big boot. Tilt-a-whirl slam by Test 1-2-shoulder up. Test hits a powerbomb 1-2-shoulder up.

Test calls for the end and runs for the Big Boot, but Jericho ducks, only for Test to send Jericho over the top rope. On the outside, Test looks for the pump handleslam, but Jericho floats over and shoves him into the ringpost. Jericho gets a chair and goes to hit Test, but Test ducks and the chairshot inadvertantly hits Stacy.
