La Liga is becoming a very interesting league..

1. Osasuna. 18.
2. Getafe. 17.

This is after 9 matchdays. Two teams that finished a short way above relegation last season. At least this is more exciting than an 8 point gap.

3. Barcelona. 16.
4. Celta Vigo. 16.
5. Real Sociedad. 16.

Celta Vigo are continuing their good start, but have slipped to 4th. Barcelona have only won 4 matches.. Real Sociedad were in the lower half of the table this time 2 weeks ago, but 3 wins on the trot without conceding have propelled them into a high position!

6. Real Madrid. 15.
7. Villarreal. 15.
8. Sevilla. 15.
9. Valencia. 15.
10. A. Madrid. 13.
11. Deportivo. 13.

Here are a majority of the big teams - midtable, although only a few wins away from the top.

12. Cadiz. 12.
13. Malaga. 10.
14. R.Santander. 9.
15. Zaragoza. 9.
16. Betis. 9.
17. Espanyol. 9.

It seems that qualification for Europe has take its toll on both Betis and Espanyol so far. Last weekend, Betis lost 5-0 away to Malaga..

18. Mallorca. 8.
19. Alaves. 7.
20. Athletic. 5.

Midweek Results
Tuesday 25th October
Barcelona 2-0 Malaga
Deportivo 3-1 Real Madrid <--- 2nd defeat in a row!
Mallorca 1-0 Celta Vigo

Wednesday 26th October
Alaves 1-1 Espanyol
Atletico Madrid 3-0 Cadiz
Real Sociedad 3-0 Getafe
Valencia 0-2 Sevilla <--- Valencia beat Real 2-1 last weekend..
Zaragoza 1-1 Racing Santander

Weekend Fixtures
Saturday 29th October
Athletic .v. Celta Vigo
Real Betis .v. Real Madrid <--- Surely Madrid will win this one!

Sunday 30th October
Alaves .v. Cadiz
Atletico Madrid .v. Villarreal
Barcelona .v. Real Sociedad
Deportivo .v. Getafe
Mallorca .v. Sevilla
Osasuna .v. Espanyol
Valencia .v. Racing Santander
Zaragoza .v. Malaga

I've found it quite hard to predict the results of these matches, so I'm looking forward to some surprising/interesting results!

Saturday 5th November
Real Sociedad 1-2 Osasuna
Espanyol 1-1 Athletic
Villarreal 1-0 Valencia

Sunday 6th November
Malaga 1-1 Deportivo
Sevilla 0-0 Atletico
Cadiz 1-2 Real Mallorca
Celta 2-1 Alaves
Racing Santander 1-1 Real Betis
Real Madrid 1-0 Real Zaragoza
Getafe 1-3 Barcelona

Before we enter a free domestic competition weekend, Osasuna have hold on to 1st place. Thanks to their 1-2 victory against Sociedad, they now lead with 2 points more than Barcelona. Real Madrid are third with 21 points.

Barcelona will miss Mark van Bommel for at least the next 2 months because of a broken ankle. This all happend during a training with the national squad.

Saturday 26th November
Real Mallorca 0-1 Athletic
Valencia 2-0 Celta

It was a good evening for me when we look at SG. Athletic move up to 19th place, thanks to a better GD and Valencia are now 4th.

Sunday 27th November
Atletico Madrid 1-1 Espanyol
Betis 1-1 Cadiz
Deportivo 0-2 Villarreal - I was so sure Deportivo would win..
Getafe 3-2 Malaga
Osasuna 3-2 Alaves
Zaragoza 0-2 Sevilla

Osasuna return to the top of La Liga, but probably only until Barcelona win later.

2 perfect results for me so far.

Look at SG ... not 100% correct, but still.

Sunday 27th November
Real Sociedad 2-2 Real Madrid --> Bye Luxemburgo!
Barcelona 4-1 Santander

Barcelona and Osasuna are both leading with 28 points. Third ranked team, Villarreal, are 5 points behind. Real Madrid are 6th.

Saturday 17th December
Athletic 2-0 Real Betis
Celta 0-3 Deportivo
Cadiz 1-3 Barcelona

I bet AZ Alkmaar won't have a tough one playing Real Betis in the UEFA Cup. Their main concern right now is avoiding relegation.

Deportivo seem to had an easy night against one of the surprises in the Primera Division. It's now waiting for Osasuna to fall down.

And Barcelona had their 12th consecutive win last night.
