While most of the European countries are playing for their National Cup, Spain's continuing with the competition!

Tuesday 21st March
Barcelona 3-1 Getafe

Well done Nei! I assume you know what I'm talking about?

Wednesday 22nd March
Athletic 1-1 Espanyol
Deportivo 2-1 Malaga
Real Betis 1-0 Santander
Valencia 1-1 Villarreal
Osasuna 2-0 Real Sociedad
Mallorca 1-0 Cadiz
Alaves 1-0 Celta
Zaragoza 1-1 Madrid

Thursday 23rd March
Atletico - Sevilla

It seems Alaves & Osasuna were the big winners last night. Alaves gain 3 points in the relegation battle. They move up to 17th place, but still nothing's sure. Around 10 teams have to fear for relegation! Osasuna seem to have a Champions League squad. Because of the good victory over Sociedad, they are now second behind Barcelona with a 12-point gap.

Villarreal managed to score their 12th draw of the season and Real Madrid had problems with Zaragoza, again!

Indeed I do! I was adding up how many games you and I got 'perfectly' correct, or correct, earlier today. I work out you've closed the gap a little, but I'm still 1st!

Saturday 1st April
Sociedad 3-0 Malaga
Zaragoza 0-1 Villarreal
Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid

Zaragoza: 14 draws

Villarreal: 12 draws

Not a surprise if people predicted a draw, unfortunately (for the predicters ) Villarreal take the win and move up to 7th place.

Saturday 8th April
Malaga 1-2 Getafe
Cadiz 1-1 Real Betis
Real Madrid 1-1 Real Sociedad
Celta 0-1 Valencia

Ronaldo - 1-0
Ronaldo - He gets a 100% chance, but fails to score

2. Real Madrid. 59
3. Valencia. 59
4. Osasuna. 55

Osasuna will play Alaves today, so normally that should be 3 points for the #4 of Spain. Mark my words ... normally ...

Eight teams play against relegation. Two of them (Cadiz, 19th & Malaga, 20th) will probably go down, but who'll be the third?

Saturday 29th April
Deportivo 0-2 Celta
Betis 1-1 Athletic
Barcelona 1-0 Cadiz

Cadiz are 19th, Barcelona 1st, but the Barca stars weren't able to grab a comfortable win.

Deportivo look disappointing, Celta on the other hand don't. Thanks to this 2-0 victory and the clash between #3 (Real Madrid) and #4 (Osasuna), the have an eye out for the CL!

Saturday 6th May
Barcelona 2-0 Espanyol
Malaga 0-2 Sevilla
Valencia 1-1 Atletico

Sunday 7th May
Betis 2-1 Mallorca
Sociedad 2-2 Celta
Zaragoza 3-0 Alaves
Santander 2-1 Osasuna
Getafe 3-1 Cadiz
Real Madrid 3-3 Villarreal
Deportivo 1-2 Athletic

Spain's alive & kickin'!

The battle for 2nd place (CL) will be finished next week. Will it be Real Madrid or Valencia?

Osasuna will most likely end 4th and participate in the CL Qualification, which is an excellent result.

Both Deportivo & Villarreal were poor this year.

Espanyol will play UEFA Cup next year, due to the victory in the Cup Final and there's also the possibility that they'll relegate!

Saturday 13th May
Atletico 1-1 Real Betis
Celta 1-0 Getafe
Mallorca 3-1 Zaragoza
Cadiz 5-0 Malaga
Villarreal 2-0 Santander
Espanyol 1-0 Sociedad
Sevilla 3-2 Barcelona
Alaves 1-0 Deportivo

The Spanish FA had to improvise, because of the postponed match between Sevilla & Barcelona. Sevilla played the UEFA Cup Final and Barcelona have a CL Final coming up. So Athletic - Barcelona will be played this Friday.

The battle for 2nd, 3rd & 4th place will be decided this Tuesday:

Tuesday 16th May
  • Osasuna - Valencia
  • Sevilla - Real Madrid
Psst Neil, it seems I'm going to win the PL.
