Saturday 18th February
Victoria Guimaraes 2-0 Benfica (LMAO)
Sporting Lisbon 3-0 Ferreira

Lisbon take over 2nd place with 3 points more than Benfica. Were Benfica already preparing for the confrontation with The Reds?

Sporting Lisbon look very strong at the moment. Brazilian striker Liedson has signed a new contract this week 'till 2010.

Last night's topmatch makes you wonder about a 'deja-vu' --> Porto, Sporting Lisbon & Benfica competiting for the title ...

Don't forget to throw in Braga! The Portuguese Superliga seems to throw up a competitive title race more often than not. Far more appealing that some other European leagues..


Btw - how about you vs me in the SG Portuguese PL Final!?

Indeed, I was thinking about the Champions race in the European leagues:
  • Holland - PSV (decided)
  • Germany - Bayern Munich (decided)
  • England - Chelsea (decided)
  • Scotland - Celtic (decided)
  • France - Lyon (decided)
  • Spain - Barcelona (decided?)
  • Italy - Juventus (decided)
It seems Belgium & Portugal are the only ones which are still exciting.
