The appeal by Great Britain, USA and France against Germany's Bettina Hoy in the 3 day eventing has been successful. This promoted the GB team to silver in the team event and Leslie Law to gold in the induvidual eventing. Also, Pippa Funnell is promoted to bronze in the induvidual events.

Equestrian saga explained

Congrtas to Ben Ainslie for clinching gold in the Sailing. That's 5 now.

Wow, I didnt know this:

Women's world No 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne of Belgium completed a remarkable comeback from illness when she won the women's singles gold medal at the Olympic tennis tournament Saturday beating second seed Amelie Mauresmo of France 6-3, 6-3.

She broke Mauresmo twice in each set to wrap up the win in 1hr 15min. The Frenchwoman never had a break point.

The 22-year-old Belgian has spent most of the year battling a debilitating virus and had played just two matches in four months before coming to Athens where she has now played six matches in a week.

Congratulations to Kyle Shewfelt who won Canada's first gold medal at these Olympics in men's gymnastics. Well deserved!

I was under the impression that it was a gold in 'Men's Floor Excercises'. In which case, as far as I'm concerned, they can have the medal back, because I'd much rather be "The Country With No Gold Medals" as oppoosed to "The Only Gold They Won Was For Men's Floor Exercises".

That's just embarrassing.
