The opening ceremony wasn't that fantastic at all .. if anything it was a bit boring. I had it on my TV in my room and was half-watching it. I'd heard weeks ago that Delta was meant to be singing something .. but instead they had Bjork. Could have been much more entertaining and exciting.

Anyway .. to the games! Great Britain have been having some success already. Our mixed doubles team in Badminton has just beaten Japan. It was a 3 set win 13-15, 15-17, 15-13. So we're now in the last 16.

Im watching beach volleyball on my TV right now.

Olympic Football
Mens:

(A) Greece 0-2 Mali
(A) Korea 1-0 Mexico
(C) Argentina 2-0 Tunisia
(C) Serbia 1-5 Australia

Poor Serbia. Two games, 11 goals conceded. They're clearly the team to thrash at these Olympics. Argentina lead Group C with 6 points, Australia are 2nd with 4. Australia just need a point from their encounter with Argentina to go through. Mali and Korea lead Group A with 4 points each.

Womens:

(E) Japan 0-1 Nigeria
(F) China 1-1 Mexico
(G) Greece 0-1 Australia
(G) USA 2-0 Brazil

USA are safely through to the Semi-Finals after their second win of the Olympics. Greece still have an outside chance of finishing 2nd or 3rd in the group.

I was watching synchronised diving a little while ago. The British girls managed to do well enough to finish 4th, but not quite well enough to get a medal. Oh well.

Yes, sorry Jeremy.

The Dutch Men's Volleyball team defeated Russia, one of the favorites, in 5 sets. We started quite well in the first set, but during the second and third I was biting my nails ... we couldn't go along with them.

After that we recovered well and won the match, as said, in 5 sets.
