Lightbulb The 2004 Olympics

Well it's that time again, every 4 years our very best athletes from around the world in the greatest competion ever created, THE OLYMPICS! yea, i sound like a commercial. Well they start on Friday in America from Athens, Greece. They are still taped but taped from the same day. So we see the sports that happened that day a few hours later. Obviously if it were live we'd have to stay up at like 1 am to see it. ha. But at least it's better than the period of time from Sydney. So, what countries are you rooting for? I'm rooting for my heritage countries. USA and India. You?

Plus have you seen the mascots this year? They are horrible!

Football Results

Mens matches:

(A) Greece 2-2 Korea
(A) Mali 0-0 Mexico
(C) Tunisia 1-1 Australia
(C) Argentina 6-0 Serbia & Montenegro

If Argentina weren't one of the favourites before .. I'm sure they are now. Not too surprised about Greece drawing. I believe most of their squad that played in Euro 2004 can't play in the Olympics.

Women's matches:

(E) Sweden 0-1 Japan
(F) Germany 8-0 China
(G) Brazil 1-0 Australia
(G) Greece 0-3 USA

Germany's under-19 women's side thrashed Spain 7-0 just a week or two back, so another very good result for their team.

The result of the day has to be between Iraq and Portugal .. 4-2! Iraq technically scored 5 goals as well, seeing as Portugal's 1st was an own goal, lol. Portugal didn't help their performance by having Boa Morte sent off after 51 minutes..
The other result in Group D ended 0-0 between Morocco and Costa Rica.

Group B saw lots of goals as Paraguay defeated Japan 4-3 and Ghana held Italy to a 2-2 draw. Ghana were actually 2-0 up at half-time before Italy pulled it back, the equaliser coming in the 83rd minute.

No more matches until Saturday.

Mens:

(A) Greece .v. Mali
(A) Korea .v. Mexico
(C) Argentina .v. Tunisia
(C) Serbia .v. Australia

Womens:

(E) Japan .v. Nigeria
(F) China .v. Mexico
(G) Greece .v. Australia
(G) USA .v. Brazil
