| Queens really blew it by losing their last two matches.
I'm really looking forward to 'Mavs vs Kings'. Kings out in the first round, that would rock so much
GO MAVS!
If they don't give the MVP award to KG, then they never will ...
'Rookie of the year' ... hmmm ... LeBron or Carmelo, not easy ...
James wins the stats, but not by much ...
Carmelo led Nuggets to playoffs though in the STRONG West.
Supporting cast? Big Z, Boozer and McInnis vs Camby, Miller and Nene ...
Difficult ... both rookies deserve it though. |

GO MAVS! | DAMN STRAIGHT! *waves lil' Mavs flag*
Though it's a really tough call, I stll think LeBron deserves ROY. Carmelo is awesome but LeBron is just...better. Besides, there are SOME good people on Denver but LeBron is like...IT for Cleveland. |

True, Carmelo's supporting cast seems a little bit better than LeBron's ...
Although Big Z is a very decent center (at times ) and Boozer is turning into one of the League's best power forwards ... at least in the East! |

| Pacers - Celtics: 104 - 88 (1-0)
No problems for the #1 of the East. Jermaine with 24 points and 11 rebounds, Artest with 6 boards, 5 assists and 24 points as well. Harrington coming off the bench with 10 rebounds and 14 points.
Pierce led Boston with 20 points to go with 10 boards. Ricky Davis and Chucky Atkins had 19 points each. Nets - Knicks: 107 - 83 (1-0)
A trashing for New York to begin the series with. New Jersey never trailed by more than 1 point.
Afernee Hardaway was the top scorer for the Knicks with 18 points (coming of the bench). Pointguard Stephon Marbury just had 13 points (6 on 14 shooting), to go with 5 boards and 2 assists.
New Jersey was fueled by Allstar pointguard Jason Kidd, who had 14 points, 13 assists and 5 boards. Kittles scored 20, Jefferson 21 and Kenyon Martin added 16 points and 12 rebounds. Spurs - Memphis: 98 - 74 (1-0)
No problems for the defending champions, Spurs in their first game against Memphis.
Wells had 16 for Memphis and Posey scored 15.
San Antonio was led by Duncan, who had 26 points to go with 9 boards. 'Sixth Man Of The Year' favorite Ginobili came of the bench with 15 points. Lakers - Houston: 72 - 71 (1-0)
Nearly a first round upset by the Rockets.
Steve Francis led the rockets with 18 points and 9 assists, but also had 7 turnovers. Jim Jackson had a good game with 11 points and 12 boards, but he missed the gamewinning three in the final seconds. Yao Ming grabbed 11 rebounds and scored 10 points, but was fouled out in the last seconds when fouling Shaq on the gamewinning dunk.
Kobe scored 16 points, to go with 5 boards, 6 assists and 5 steals. Karl Malone added 7 points, 4 assists and 11 rebounds. But without any doubt, the player of the game was Shaquille O'Neal. He led all scores with 20 points, had 17 rebounds (8 offensive boards), dished out 3 assists and had 2 block shots.
The Rockets trapped Kobe with seconds expiring and forced him to take a very tough shot. He came up short, but Shaq overpowered Yao to grab the airball and slammed home the first series win with a dunk, despite being fouled by Ming.
Rockets had one last chance to win it, but Jim Jackson missed his final three point attempt and the game ended with Shaquille grabbing his 17th rebound on Jackson's miss.

| Detroit - Milwaukee: 108 - 82 (1-0)
Some hard defence and the Pistons are up 1-0.
Desmond Mason led the Bucks with 16. Poor game by Michael Redd!
Detroit was led by Rip Hamilton, who scored 21 points. The 'Wallace Brothers' had big contributions as well:
Rasheed scored 17, pulled down 10 board and blocked 3 shots.
Ben scored 17 as well, had 14 rebounds and 3 steals. |
