This is one of the reasons why many people would like one company (?) to deliver/make the tyres. I'm curious to see which charges the Michelin teams will get (if they get any) ... BBC Article

If anyone should be charged, it's Mosley. He's a major screw-up .. bigger than anything he's done before. IMO he should personally refund EACH & EVERY person their ticket. It's blindingly clear that Michellin, Ecclestone, the team bosses and race organisers tried to find a way to have the US GP run with 20 cars. What did Mosley do!? - act like a 5 year old brat.

This article sums it up perfectly and clearly:

Mosley should resign.

Motorsport's governing body the FIA has deferred judgment on the seven teams involved in the US Grand Prix fiasco.

Renault, McLaren, Toyota, Williams, Red Bull, Sauber and BAR were found guilty on two of the five charges they faced at a hearing in Paris on Wednesday. The teams were found guilty of failing to ensure they had suitable tyres and wrongfully refusing to start the race.

Penalties will follow on 14 September, giving the teams and tyre company Michelin time to repair F1's image.

French GP Prediction for Pole:
F.Alonso

All the big teams look fast this weekend, including Ferrari. Today might give us a better picture of who is in a better position to challenge for the win, but then again, maybe it won't!

Pole Prediction:
F Alonso

It's a little unclear to me how the Qualification will look like, who'll start, who'll end? Fernando Alonso/Renault look like the best candidate to get pole.

Uhm, where's Liselotte?

Poor Raikkonen, who starts 10 places behind.

It's always difficult to predict, 'cause we don't know which team has which strategy. What car has the most fuel and who has the least? All questions we need to answer/predict, but luckily we both did well. Let's now hope for a good race.

I still have doubts he'll start 13th. He may do the same like, for example, Barrichello a few races back and start in the pits. That way he can drive away with a full car.

Been really busy lately with school and work so no much time to even think about what day of the week it is (and then to realise there is such a thing as GP on tv )

But anyway, before I forget again, I just predict right away!

Top 8:
1. Alonso
2. Raikkonen
3. m. Schumacher
4. Barrichello
5. Trulli
6. Sato
7. Fisichella
8. Webber

French GP Qualifying
1. F.Alonso. 1:14.412
2. J.Trulli. 1:14.521
3. M.Schumacher. 1:14.572
4. T.Sato. 1:14.655
5. R.Barrichello. 1:14.832
6. G.Fisichella. 1:14.887
7. J.Button. 1:15.051
8. J.P.Montoya. 1:15.406
9. F.Massa. 1:15.566
10. J.Villeneuve. 1:15.699
11. R.Schumacher. 1:15.771
12. M.Webber. 1:15.885
13. K.Raikkonen. 1:14.559 (10 place penalty)
14. N.Heidfeld. 1:16.207
15. D.Coulthard. 1:16.434
16. C.Klien. 1:16.547
17. N.Karthikeyan. 1:17.857
18. P.Friesacher. 1:17.960
19. T.Monteiro. 1:18.047
20. C.Albers. 1:18.335

Fernando Alonso grabs pole position for the first time in quite a few races! .. so regardless of the grid penalty, Kimi wasn't the fastest man. I'm surprised he even did a qualifying lap. It seems better sense to simply take on a LOT of fuel and start from the pit lane. That way he can come through the field and finish strongly.

Whats happened to Williams!? A month ago, in the European GP, they were challenging for race wins. Now they can't even break into the top 10.. This really is a season of vastly mixed fortunes. Heres to an exciting race today!

Prediction League
Pole - F.Alonso

Points Gained -

Neil - 3
Gert-Jan - 3

Total Points After Qualifying
1. Neil. 122.
2. Gert-Jan. 95.
3. Lizzy. 66.

School? Isn't that over yet?

If he had driven the fastest Qualifiying Lap, another pole position would have been behind his name. Later on, the FIA would have put him back to 10th place. Yes, it's weird.

Raikkonen can still start in the pit lane (and I'm pretty sure he'll do that), make sure he has lots of fuel with him and drive into the top 8, top 5 and maybe the top 3?

My Top 8:
1. F Alonso
2. M Schumacher
3. K Raikkonen
4. G Fisichella
5. J Trulli
6. J Button
7. JP Montoya
8. R Barrichello

3 to retire:
- P Friesacher
- N Karthikeyan
- C Klien

Fastest Lap
F Alonso
