Saturday's Qualifying Session
1. J.Trulli. 1:14.795
2. F.Alonso. 1:14.811
3. K.Raikkonen. 1:14.819
4. R.Schumacher. 1:14.870
5. N.Heidfeld. 1:15.038
6. M.Webber. 1:15.042
7. M.Schumacher. 1:15.398
8. G.Fisichella. 1:15.601
9. R.Barrichello. 1:15.746
10. D.Coulthard. 1:15.795
11. F.Massa. 1:15.863
12. J.P.Montoya. 1:15.902
13. V.Liuzzi. 1:16.288
14. J.Villeneuve. 1:16.794
15. N.Karthikeyan. 1:18.557
16. T.Monteiro. 1:19.040
17. C.Albers. 1:19.563
18. P.Friesacher. 1:20.306

WoW! The top 4 are covered by less than 0.1 of a second after the first qualifying session, so any of those 4 could potentially be on pole for the race. Williams are very close as well, so they can't be discounted .. Webber's pace is very respectable considering he did no laps yesterday!

Ferrai's pace at Imola was something that perplexed everyone, but now we know that is was most likely down to the tyres working very very well on that track/in those conditions. Schumacher will have to work hard tommorow to rise above 7th place.

Fisichella and Montoya were compromised by going out early. As a result I don't see eiher challenging for the win, but a good solid race could see both score points. One thing to note is that Raikkonen went out early as well, yet he lead the session until Trulli pipped him near the end. I believe his pace in the McLaren could be even better tommorow.

1. K.Raikkonen. 2:31.421
2. M.Webber. 2:31.668
3. F.Alonso. 2:31.691
4. R.Schumacher. 2:31.917
5. J.Truli. 2:31.995
6. G.Fisichella. 2:32.830
7. J.P.Montoya. 2:33.472
8. M.Schumacher. 2:33.551
9. D.Coulthard. 2:34.168
10. F.Massa. 2:34.224

14. T.Monteiro. 2:39.943
15. C.Albers. 2:41.141
16. P.Friesacher. 2:42.759
17. N.Heidfeld. No Time
18. R.Barrichello. No Time

As I thought, we have Raikkonen on pole! Hopefully he'll be able to last for the whole race this weekend and score a lot of points. The pace of the McLaren is fantastic. You can see that in Montoya's time as he leapt up 5 places on the grid (even though 2 were due to Heidfeld and Barrichello taking 10-place grid penalties) from 12th to 7th.

Webber has been amazing over the last 24 hours. 6th yesterday and now 2nd fastest today .. pipping Alonso to the front row. In the end, Renault and Toyota must be pretty pleased with their high grid positions. I expect both teams to be strong in the race.

Ferrari remain a mystery. Schumacher lost two places on the grid, but then gained one back due to Heidfeld's penalty. I expect they've gone for a heavy fuel load to get him further into the race, but with McLaren's pace and the amount of cars in front of him, I can't see Schumacher recording his first win of the season. I don't see Ferrari repeating the pace of Imola at all.
