Alonso wins at his home GP! A fantastic race for Alonso and Reanult. The general feeling was that Ferrari and M.SChumacher would have the edge today, seeing as the Ferrari had about 8-10kph more straight line speed, but the Renault was superior. Alonso created a lead of almost 15 seconds before the first pit-stop and wasn't ever seriously threatened for the lead by Schumacher, not even during the pit windows. Schumacher was out for about 4-6 laps longer, but Alonso was in command. On a tank full of fuel Alonso went around one lap only 0.2s slower than Schumacher! He was the driver of the day today.

Raikkonen came in with a solid 5th place, but almost a minute behind Alonso. Button was a few seconds behind Raikkonen. Clearly both McLaren and BAR have some work to do if they wish to catch up with Renault and Ferrari.. *crosses fingers*

I wouldn't say anyone won the midfield battle today. The sole remaining Toyota was sandwiched between a Williams on either side, and the a BMW Sauber one place further forward and back. It was pretty much even, although they were all a lap down. Red Bull came in 13th and 14th, and so were the losers in midfield today.

Monaco GP in 2 weeks time.

As far as I'm concerned that's possible, but it's a big risk indeed. If a driver does retire you get 1 point for it, but if you hadn't predict him in the top 8 as well, you could have written down another driver in that top 8 to create a possibility to gain a maximum of 6 points with that driver.

Read that!
Makes sense! It is a pretty crazy strategy, but not so much of a risk if you think a driver will finish, but would rather see him not (knows which driver it is Lizzy was thinking about )

Thanks! Although it could have been more as I wanted to make Raikkonen 5th & Button 6th and Albers in the list with 3 retirements instead of Liuzzi. Still, I'm happy.

You didn't had a bad week yourself.

Let's say I predict him to end at #4 and predict him to retire aswell. Then I have a chance he will end in the top 8 and get points for it.. but if he retires I also get a point cuz I predicted him to retire. So that way I will only loose points if he finish the race outside the top 8 (or with a 5 place difference of what I predicted). Yea.. or loose points cuz I could add another driver. But that's the risk!
Now stop laughing

You also lose points if he doesn't finish the race, as thats a possible 6 less had you predicted another driver to finish in the top 8!

Your strategy is as clever as wanting to lose at least one point!
Sorry.
