D1 - Semi-Final, 1st leg
Preston 2-0 Derby County

Was this a fair reflection of how the game progressed? .. Maybe. Preston played well and Derby coped well enough considering their injury worries, but Preston's goal was virtually a gift from Derby.. so I think 1-0 would have been fair. Regardless, Derby have an uphill struggle coming into the second-leg. I think we might be seeing Preston in the Final.

I think Derby deserved nothing out of this game. Preston played really well so I think they will make it.

It ended Northampton 0-0 Southend

Sheffield Wednesday win 4-1 on aggragate.

Brentford finished the season with a minus GD.. I guess that statistic caught up with them.

Tranmere Rovers 2-0 Hartlepool Utd (aet)

- Hartlepool United win 6-5 on penalties!


Sheffield Wednesday and Hartlepool United will play for a place in D1 on the 29th of May. Hartlepool have never been out of the bottom 2 divisions of English Football since they joined in 1921. Can this year (84 years later) be the one where they finally make it!?

What a game, West Ham beat Ipswich 2-0 with 2 goals from Bobby Zamora. I wanted Ipswich to win, its tough on them after such a great season but I guess thats the playoffs.
