I totally agree, How could McManus and Magnier sell up, I thought they cared about the club, how wrong can I be?

Sunday 15th May
Birmingham City - Arsenal
Bolton Wanderers - Everton
Charlton Athletic - Crystal Palace
Fulham - Norwich City
Liverpool - Aston Villa
Manchester City - Middlesbrough
Newcastle United - Chelsea
Southampton - Manchester United
Tottenham Hotspur - Blackburn Rovers
West Brom - Portsmouth

Here we go.
  • Can Manchester City give everything they have and beat Middlesbrough?
  • Who'll be surviving this season? WBA, Southampton, Crystal Palace or Norwich City?
  • Will the topteams (Chelsea, Arsenal, ManUnited) play with a B-team?

In a little over 2 hours 3 teams will be heading down to the 1st Division for next season and one club will be celebrating survival! Personally, I hope one of the sides promoted last season survive. That's nothing against Southampton, I simply think it's better for Football overall if one of the promoted teams survives.

I still think Southampton are screwed anyway. Who cares about their past record against Manchester United!? That was all at The Dell. St Marys Stadium doesn't hold the same magic for matches against United. With the FA Cup Final coming up, all the controversy surrounding the demons (Glazier) takeover bid and after the humiliation of Tuesday night, I think it'll spark United into a BIG frenzy .. which will see Southampton relegated. Also take into account that West Brom have already won today - can you see Portsmouth seriously playing well against them!?

Norwich may have their future in their own hands, but the statistics don't favour them at all. If you asked the question 'when was the last time Norwich won in the Premiership?', I'd give you the answer '1994'. Maybe Fulham don't have anything to play for, but I doubt they'll roll over. They didn't last week.

Charlton are rubbish at the end of the season.. Crystal Palace have something BIG to play for and regardless of this being a London derby, I think Palace will come out on top. I think and hope that Crystal Palace can survive today.

Bring it on!

If Tottenham win by enough, then Manchester City will still lose out!

Half-time:

Charlton Athletic 1-0 Crystal Palace
Fulham 2-0 Norwich City
Southampton 1-1 Manchester United
West Brom 0-0 Portsmouth

Southampton are in 17th place at half-time, but they are fortunate not to be behind. Manchester United are playing well, but as has been the case often this season, they can't find the back of the net often enough..

On the balance of play in the first-half, I think West Brom have the best chance to stay up, but only if they can create some realistic chances. Norwich seem doomed and Palace seem out of luck.

In the space of a few minutes so much can change..

Crystal Palace scored to make it 1-1 and draw level with Southampton.

Then West Brom scored to take the lead against Portsmouth and thrust themselves from 20th to 17th!

Moments later RVN put Manchester United into a 2-1 lead and suddenly Southampton find themselves in 19th..

That is a HUGE psychological blow, even with 25-30 minutes left.

EDIT: Andy Johnson has put Crystal Palace 2-1 up from the penalty spot! Now Southampton are even more down..

Sunday 15th May
Relegation Battle
Charlton Athletic 2-2 Crystal Palace
Fulham 6-0 Norwich City
Southampton 1-2 Manchester United
West Brom 2-0 Portsmouth

Norwich had survival in their own hands, but couldn't cook up the right result to stay up..

Manchester United didn't lie down at St Marys Stadium. They continue to have a good record there and, considering Arsenal's result, today has been a good set-up for next weeks FA Cup Final.

Crystal Palace had survival in their own hands until a silly free-kick was given away with about 10 minutes to go, with which Charlton produced a goal to level the scores at 2-2.

I wonder.. will anyone be declaring what happened at West Brom a conspiracy!? No matter what people say, West Brom may have done something that has never happened before. They have survived on the last day after being bottom coming into the last match. Has any other team done that!? I was thinking about the Christmas curse earlier as well .. I was thinking how ironic it would be if West Brom stayed up, after being bottom at Christmas, in the 13th Premiership season - they've done it.
  • 17. West Brom. 34.
  • 18. Crystal Palace. 33.
  • 19. Norwich City. 33.
  • 20. Southampton. 32.

UEFA Cup Fight
Manchester City 1-1 Middlesbrough
Tottenham Hotspur 0-0 Blackburn Rovers

Robbie Fowler missed a penalty in injury-time to send Middlesbrough into the UEFA Cup for the second time running. However, if fortune favours Liverpool in the CL Final and in their bid to play in the CL should they win it, then Manchester City will find themselves in the UEFA Cup next season

Other Results
Birmingham City 2-1 Arsenal
Bolton Wanderers 3-2 Everton - Everton end with a minus GD!
Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa
Newcastle United 1-1 Chelsea

Manager of the season -

Mourinho? .. Moyes! .. or Robson!?
