| Quote: Originally posted by brit4ever Neil, I have a queston and maybe you can answer it with your Football Annual. What's the maximum amount of points a team had in the Premiership? Can Chelsea break a record? | My Annual does have that record, but I already knew it from last night. BBC Sport have an article on this. The record used to be 92 points (set by Manchester United) but now Chelsea have broken it! They will also break the record for fewest amount of goals conceded in a Premiership campaign, unless Newcastle put 3 past them at the weekend. Arsenal currently hold the record with 17 goals conceded.
Mourinho said something last night that I totally agree with: ""Twenty points does not show the difference between both teams because Manchester United also have great players," added Mourinho. "They had a very bad start to the season and a very bad end, but in the middle they put pressure on us."
If we had been in with a shout of the title still, I think it would be fair to say last nights result could have been reversed .. and if we had still been in with a shout then the results against Crsytal Palace, Blackburn, Norwich, Everton and West Brom could have been very different .. which may have put the two clubs level on points. I know people say the league positions don't lie, but it is partly an indication of how results affect a team as the season goes on. |

| I think Jose was just being nice. The facts are we finished 20 points behind the champions Chelsea. That to me is unacceptable. We didnt score enough, too many players just didnt seem bothered. |

| You're right, Emma.. it is unacceptable. I've kinda given up caring about the Premiership since a few weeks ago.. but it just wasn't nice to see that scoreline last night. I expect if we'd had beaten Crystal Palace and Blackburn a few months ago, that the players would have had a better attitude up until now.. and then who knows. We've lost out on 15 points over the last 2 months and reversing last nights match takes 3 of Chelsea, so who knows. I'm just fed up with our end of season slump. The attitude is appalling.. We still had second place to play for and even after drawing with Crsytal Palace we still had plenty of hope for the title. Some new players are most definitely needed and the ones that are capable of more need a stern talking to over the summer. |

| I wonder what will happen to Ryan Giggs. I think our squad looks dated now. Doesnt seem to be much coming through the reserve and academy, I disagree with so much going on at Old Trafford with the academy system, I think lets start of with a new keeper and go for the best, Chesea did so lets do that.
I know the 3rd goal was offside but still 2-1 or 3-1 it doesnt really matter, I havent cared much about the premiership lately apart from the relegation end of the table. |

| Ryan Giggs is still an amazing player, even if he is getting to the later stage of his career. I hope we keep him for at least another few years.
I totally agree about the keeper issue. We are a BIG club, therefore we NEED a world class keeper! Not a good keeper (Carroll and Howard would come under that) but a great keeper! I also think our defense could do with one or two more big names, even though it has been very solid throughout the season.
Midfield is where we seem to be a bit lacking.. and definitely an area we will need replacements in soon. Giggs, Keane, Scholes - they're all getting on. A replacement needs to be found for Keane by the start of the 2006-2007 campaign at the latest. We could do with some more class too. Ronaldo may be improving, but I feel we could find a player who is better.. if only we'd snapped up Robben when it was possible. We need to buy players when they're available, instead of fluffing around/waiting.
The strike force of Rooney and RVN is pretty awesome when they're on song, but we could do with another world class striker, so they keep each other on their toes. I know I'd give them a very very hard talking to if I was SAF.. except Rooney. He was dedicated last night but there's only so much one man can do against Chelsea. |

| Half-time: Arsenal 3-0 Everton
On paper this match means nothing, but the players of both Arsenal and Everton are playing for pride, yet not even pride can help Everton tonight.. Arsenal are rampant - totally dominant. They're passing the ball around as though it's a training match and have managed to create 10 shots on target already. Van Persie and Pires fired Arsenal into an early lead, after Everton had a few opening chances - one of which they should have taken! Vieira added the 3rd in the 37th minute, but it could have been even more..
I expect we'll see at least another goal from Arsenal in the second-half. Everton simply have to go on 'damage limitation' mode. Maybe they can find a conselation, but I think a comeback is out of the question. One thing for Everton to chew on no matter what the result is that if they make it through the CL Qualifying Round, they'll potentially come up against 6 matches of this type. It will be hard for them. |

| Its already 4-0, How different are Arsenal to Man Utd. They can take their chances, they deserve that 2nd place. I didnt bother to watch it, dont have that much interest anymore.
I think looking at the Man Utd squad:
We need a world class keeper in the Schmeichel mould again, we need a leader from the back. We need someone who strikers will fear and not have lapses like Carroll and Howard.
Looking at defence, I think Heinze is good but gives away usless and needless fouls. My dad calls him "Arms and Legs" as he always uses his arms on the players and legs are everywhere in the tackle.
Midfield: I think we need some fresh players, we have a dated midfield and we need at least 2 new midfielders, I think we need cover on the wings as I think we are badly missing good wingers, Ronaldo is good and is improving but his final ball sometimes is lacking and I find he can be a bit too selfish.
Strikers: I think we could do with someone else, I am not sure if we should sell Saha and maybe Smith, cant see either of them getting much action.
Edit: Woah Arsenal winning 7-0!!!!!!!!

| Arsenal 7-0 Everton
Van Persie (8)
Pires (12) (50)
Vieira (37)
Edu (70 - pen)
Bergkamp (77)
Flamini (85)
Wow.. Arsenal really put on a good display tonight. They were dominant pretty much from the start to end. Everton didn't have a lot of hope, and any they did have was gone by the time Arsenal went 3-0 up. With this kind of display from Arsenal it's clear to see that they'll be very strong next season. I'm not being too optimistic about the FA Cup Final atm either..
One statistic sums up this match more than a detailed analysis can:
Possession - Arsenal: 81% Quote: Originally posted by ForeverInLoveWithJus Looking at defence, I think Heinze is good but gives away usless and needless fouls. My dad calls him "Arms and Legs" as he always uses his arms on the players and legs are everywhere in the tackle.
Strikers: I think we could do with someone else, I am not sure if we should sell Saha and maybe Smith, cant see either of them getting much action. | I think Heinze is a good player. Our best defensive players this season along with Ferdinand. We should keep him, but he can be a bit better behaved. Smith has scored more than 10 and is quite versatile in terms of where he can play. If either of Smith or Saha were to go, I'd vote for Saha ahead of Smith right now. |

If Thierry Henry played against Everton last night, Arsenal would have got 10. |

| Its got worse today JP McManus and John Magnier have sold their shares at 300p a share to Malcolm Glazier. So all he needs is 75% to take control. He is reportedly at around 62% at present.
Shareholders United only have maybe 20% shares. |
