Peter Kenyon admits Chelsea's spending spree is virtually over and says a maximum of three players will arrive in the summer.

Chelsea spent in the region of £200million following the arrival of Roman Abramovich two years ago, but Kenyon has hinted that those days are over and now boss Jose Mourinho will only be looking to strengthen one or two positions.

Kenyon revealed: "Clearly, we've spent a significant amount of money on players in the past 18 months. Last close season we spent less than the season before and this close season, we'll spend less again.

"There's been an up-front investment in the squad but the average age is 25 and the squad is now 24 strong. The parameters of our cost base have been set, so it is about being in the transfer market for the right reasons. I don't think you'll see more than two or three players coming in."

Kenyon has also revealed that Hernan Crespo and Juan Sebastien Veron are set to leave the club in the summer. The duo are on loan at AC and Inter Milan respectively and talks over permanent deals will begin shortly.

I think Kezman made a mistake joining Chelsea in the first place. I have no doubt that Chelsea will sign new players this summer .. and that the summer after a number of them will leave.

How could you miss out the thrilling encounter between Fulham & Everton!? If Everton win that and Liverpool fail to beat Middlesbrough, then it'll be very very hard for Liverpool to finish in 4th place .. that's why they're going to win the CL!
