Ron-Robert Zieler was delighted as he signed for Manchester United after completing his switch from Cologne.

The 15-year-old goalkeeper is rated by the Red Devils as one of the best in Europe for his age and have tied him down to a three-year deal. It is a great feeling," said Zieler recently. "Something entirely special.

"The chance to play at such a world-class club comes along very rarely. I have already been very impressed. I saw many pros like striker Ruud van Nistelrooy and also coach Alex Ferguson.

"I will be in good hands. I have the ambition, the discipline and, in addition, the will. Money played no role in my decision. I only want to play football." Zieler will move to Old Trafford in July once his studies have finished.

lol at this article.

Barcelona boss Frank Rijkaard added more spice to the row he is involved in with his Chelsea counterpart Josè Mourinho.
“Espanyol play better football and have a greater winning mentality than Chelsea” said the Azulgrana’s Dutch boss when asked to comment on the upcoming Barcelona derby.

“They only don’t know how to defend like Chelsea do,” he added. Rijkaard has been furious at Mourinho since the Portuguese trainer teased him ahead of last week’s Champions League clash won by the Liga side over the Prem giants 2-1.

The two teams meet again next week in Stamford Bridge for the second leg of their mouth-watering clash.

Manchester United reserve player Mads Timm has been jailed for a year following a high-speed road race that resulted in injuries to two people.

Timm, a Danish youth international, was racing with former team-mate Callum Flanagan, who has since left Old Trafford. Flanagan lost control and collided with another car, injuring its driver and another United youngster Phillip Marsh, who was a passenger in his car.

Flanagan was sent to a young offenders’ institution for eight months.

BOY OH BOY DO I LIKE THE SOUND OF THIS!

Credit BBC News:

United fans are planning to mark the 10th anniversary of Cantona's infamous kung-fu kick on Crystal Palace fan Matthew Simmons by wearing the masks.

But Palace stadium manager Kevin Corner has warned: "If they wear them inside Selhurst Park they will be immediately rejected on safety grounds.

"And no fans wearing Cantona masks will be allowed entry to the stadium."

United fans had declared Saturday as 'Cantona Day' and had planned to wear masks, that were popular during the Frenchman's time as a player at the Old Trafford club.

And one contributor to United fanzine, Red Issue, warned that many United fans will still do so despite Palace's waning.

He said: "I will be wearing a mask and many other United fans will be as well.

"It is not against the law so who are they to say what we can and cannot do."

Is he kidding himself?

Dean Ashton has sent a rallying cry to the Canaries fans, by insisting that City can survive in the Premiership this season.

Despite currently standing five points adrift of safety, the former Crewe frontman believes the squad is good enough to turn things around and avoid the drop.

Ashton said: "There's still a lot of points to play for. We're not going to give up just because we lost to Manchester City, so we'll pick ourselves up."

One worry for Norwich is the fixture list, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal still to play before the end of the campaign. But Ashton feels that could help them, adding: "When you look at the top of the table sides, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea those are the kind of the games that you want to play in.

"We've got to tighten up without a doubt but we've been doing some training on it. There's belief in the players, the staff and the fans - who are always behind us. So we believe we can get out of it."

Dean Ashton is in dreamland I'm afraid.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal .. don't see Norwich getting a point out of any of those matches. What does that leave them with?

Home
Newcastle
Charlton
Birmingham

2 teams chasing Europe and Birmingham. I don't see them scoring more than 4..

Away
Bolton
Crystal Palace
Southampton
Fulham

The games against Crystal Palace, Southampton and Fulham will be crucial! However, as they're away, I can't see Norwich picking up a win. I think if Palace win one more game, then Norwich have had it.
