What a game between Liverpool and Man Utd, think that ref went mad with the cards.. I am afraid Wes did have to go, enjoyable game nevertheless.

Chelsea look good for the title now. A 11 point lead (over Manchester United) is very good, but not always secure. Just remind Newcastle fans of their 12 point lead back in the late 1990's, or Arsenal fans of their 8 point lead 2 seasons ago! There's plenty more time for Chelsea to slip-up. It's possible, they're only human afterall.

The relegation clash looks like it'll come down to a fight between 4 teams - Crystal Palace, Norwich, Southampton and West Brom. Fulham and Blackburn now have a gap of 9 points from themselves down to the drop zone. I believe both are good enough not to be dragged back into the struggle. 40 points is said to be the safety number, but I can't see any of the bottom 4 teams reaching 40 points by the end of the season..

West Brom didn't deserve that at all.. It's the Christmas curse working on them.

Norwich 4-4 Middlesbrough

How did the match go and who scored? Was it a deserved win?

Middlesbrough easily had the match won, but simply threw it away in the last 10 minutes.. Being fair Middlesbrough deserved the win, but with their awful defending at the end a big win wouldn't have been fair. Norwich were very determined to get back into the match and certainly had luck to get back to level terms. It's a massive boost for them, especially considering ALL of their relegation rivals won. They were Middlesbrough's points however, until it was thrown away...

Bottom 8:

13. Fulham. 28.
14. Portsmouth. 27.
15. Birmingham. 26.
16. Blackburn. 25.
17. Crystal Palace. 21.
18. Southampton. 18.
19. Norwich. 17.
20. West Brom. 16.

West Brom earned only their 2nd win of the season at home to Manchester City - a team that beat Chelsea 1-0 a few months ago. Norwich have also only won twice, but thanks to their 8 goal thriller, they now have the worst defensive record (46) If you compare the GD's of Crystal Palace (-10) and Southampton (-14), with that of Norwich (-23) and West Brom (-25) .. you can see that the two bottom teams seem more likely to go down. Southampton have a stronger squad, a squad that has more confidence since the new arrivals. Palace are able to win more matches (they've won more than Norwich and West Brom combined). I believe one of these two will stay up .. and maybe even both if another team (most likely Portsmouth) is dragged down into the struggle.
