United were absolute rubbish, Ronaldo, what a waste of time, no end product and way too selfish.

Is that what really happend or is it manipulated? If it's real, the referees/linesmen are even worse than in Holland.

That's actually what happened. They've been replaying the incident on Sky Sports News lots of times and there's a lot of discussion about bringing in goalline technology to help the referee and linesmen in situations like that. The shot on goal was from almost at the half-way line, that's why the referee and linesman were so far away at the time. The ball looped high up into the air and Carroll fumbled his catch, it bounced off him and into the goal, but Carroll spooned it out very quickly.

Apart from that (and Ronaldo's performance) United had a great match. Scholes and Keane were on top form again, as was Giggs until his injury. Fletcher has been playing well too, we were just very unlucky in front of goal .. as were Tottenham!

I dont really agree, I thought several players were quite poor. I agree a lot with this:

Seriously.. I'm starting to think that there should be videoreplays in situations like that, when it's uncertain wether the ball was in goal or not. It doesn't take much time if (example) fourth referee quickly watches that situation again from video.

Anyway.. I really think that United should buy a new goalie. Howard and Carroll are good goalies but.. not good enough for United I'd say.

And heres the situation again: http://irishdaedalus.giaicomm.com/carroll.gif

I think technology should be introduced for deciding whether the ball crossed the line in those situations. It's clearly needed if such blatant mistakes like the one on Tuesday night can be made.. As for any other aspect of the game, it's not really needed. We'd be stopping the game every few minutes to review every decision and I'm really not keen on that at all. Football involves a certain amount of luck too. If every decision was decided by technology, then that luck would be eliminated and something would be taken out of the game. Every decision evens itself out in the end, be it right or wrong.

I think adidas are developing technology on their ball for next season so that if the ball crosses the line, it beeps and lets the referee know that it crossed the line.

I think that beeping ball would be a good thing. Too bad Blatter or who ever there is doesn't really like to change things.

Looks like Robbie Savage has got his way and will be moving to Blackburn. I think I would prefer to be at Birmingham. Looks like Thomas Gravesen is going to Real Madrid, unbelievable move for him.
