Default Eircom FAI National League - Ireland

This is a thread to keep those who are interested in Irish football aware of what is happening!

Despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Shamrock Rovers FC on Sunday, Bohemian FC remain runaway leaders in the FAI National League.

The visitors' top scorer Glenn Crowe turned from hero to villain - after heading the Dalymount Park side into an eleventh-minute lead, he floored Tony Grant in the area on 90 minutes and the Rovers striker duly converted the resulting penalty.

Shelbourne FC remain in second position after a 2-1 win at home to bottom side University College Dublin FC. Robbie Doyle gave UCD the lead after 26 minutes, but Scottish striker Mark Roberts levelled matters with a deflected effort ten minutes later. Midfield player Davey Byrne scored the winning goal for Shelbourne 60 seconds later with an unstoppable 25-metre effort.

Cork City FC returned to form in the driving rain at Turners Cross with a 1-0 win over struggling Drogheda United FC, who were sunk by a solitary George O'Callaghan goal. Meanwhile, Bray Wanderers AFC stay third from bottom after a goalless draw with Saint Patrick's Athletic FC at the Carlisle Grounds.

The weekend's other game between Longford Town FC and Derry City FC finished in a 1-1 draw. Alan Kirby gave Longford the lead after 59 minutes, but Liam Coyle's equaliser ten minutes from time was enough to earn Derry a point

Cool

I just had a look at the Irish league table, things do look very impressive for Bohemians, no defeats yet, think they can keep it up? It looks very close in midfield and UCD are in some trouble. Unfortunately we don't get highlights from the Irish league on Eurosport.

Looking at their table position and results I have to agree with you. Have they ever reached the UEFA Cup?
