Why SmackDown often uses the RAW stage?

I like the SmackDown stage a lot more than the RAW stage personally.

Because sometimes RAW and SD are filled on the same night in the same stadium so they just use the Raw Titantron.

What do you mean by filled on the same night? Aren't the SmackDown tapings always on Wednesday?

Smackdown tapings are on tuesday night, along with ECW currently (a super show). I'm not really sure. maybe the crew is lazy or they are just cutting back on costs.

There have been a few times that Raw and Smackdown are on the same Monday night and thats called a Supershow. Of course Smackdown is taped so its not on till Friday like normal. They've done that quite a few times acually. So they keep the same stage up, I hope I helped.
