| Diego Maradona in Intensive Care | | Sad. I hope he is okay.
Former Argentine World Cup-winning captain Diego Maradona is in a critical condition, suffering high blood pressure and respiratory failure.
The 43-year-old Maradona was admitted to a private clinic just hours after seeing former side Boca Juniors play.
Maradona, who has been battling drug addiction for years, is unable to breathe for himself.
His doctor Alfredo Cahe said the next 24-48 hours would be crucial to his chances of recovery.
A statement by the Buenos Aires clinic described Maradona's condition as "unstable". |

| I heard it on the radio this morning. Though it's indeed sad, I can't say it's a surprise. |

| As sad as it is, it unfortunatley was comming for a long time.
His health has deteriorated through some very bad behaviour and things he should never have got up to.
However I hope he manages to get better. |

| And look at him now.
He used to be a star. He has a great family and enough money to be without financial problems for the rest of his life.
And then he throws all of that away with overdoses and suicide attempts ... now, in my opinion, that is what's sad. |

| In my opinion, overall, Maradonna is a man who on the field and off, socially and occupationally, threw away the rule book.
Now it has caught up on him. |

| Yes but so many stars were like him and I do hope he is okay,. Just look at George Best, Paul Gascoigne, Paul Merson. Poor Diego. |
