I assumed a summer without Football had started, but there's more to see now than the whole last season.

I'm very much into the WC, which is pretty normal since it's being helt here and everyone's talking about it. But last night I also saw the summaries of the first 2 matches of this Confederations Cup. Germany won with 4-3 (!), Klinsmann has to perform well in own country.

Brazil beating Greece 1-0 so far with a goal from Adriano, I expect a good few goals here.

Brazil 3-0 Greece

It's still a mystery how Greece became EC 2004. Brazil are favorites to take another World Title next year. Adriano, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Robinho, Ricardo Oliviera, Ze Roberto, Juninho, Dida, Cafu, Kaka ...

Was Greece just a one off? Were they lucky?

Attendances at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2005 show an increase so far on the previous two editions of the tournament. The near-capacity crowds that witnessed the games involving the host nation Germany against Australia in Frankfurt (46,466) and the world champions Brazil in action in Leipzig against Greece (42,507) meant that a total of 141,042 have watched the opening four fixtures. In FIFA Confederations Cup 2003 in France the first four games drew an audience of 138,242 and in Korea/Japan 2001 the number attending the same number of games was 117,257. More than half that total came from a single fixture ….the clash between France and the Korea Republic in Daegu.

It's still not sure if Greece will participate next year in Germany (and I doubt they will). Who knows what will happen in 2008 ... I just don't think they can do it again.

The stadium during Japan - Mexico was just the opposite. But honestly, I do have seen two good matches.

I doubt they'll qualify atm.. Even to begin with, they had a very tough group to qualify from - Ukraine, Turkey and Denmark are not easy teams to beat. Who knows, maybe Greece will have an easier Euro 2008 Qualification group. I imagine the draw for that will take place before the end of the year!
