I thought Howard was impressive. The conditions were tough. As for Eric, He will be an invaluable assett at Old Trafford.

He was, good debute, but not superb ... he would have been 'superb' if he had got to that freekick of Henry, then it would have been a superb match for him. I just think the ball was at the ideal height and he saw it coming from a long way ... I just think his positioning could have been a lot better on that set piece.

I think he could have got that, yes but he made ammends on the penalties, If Barthez had have been playing, he probably would have punched every corner..

Yes, Howard made up later in the match for his mistake.

Well if Barthez knows he can't grab a ball in the air while jumping and keep it in his hands, then he's smart going for the punch method ... although of course, that's never the best method to retaliate on a corner, as you never know where and with who the ball will end up ...

Exactly, I see Barthez having no future at Old Trafford, I think he wont last long.

I'm not sure ... he'll surely won't take a role as backup for Howard. With his name and reputation he won't have much trouble finding a new club either ... Although I can't imagine that easily him leaving anytime soon.

I doubt he will be happy as reserve keeper either but He may have no say. Wonder if he will be no 1 on Saturday.

Is he still injured or not? Or was there no special reason why Howard was in the goal and not Barthez this last Sunday?

Barthez wasnt even on the bench, he returned to training late I believe so wasnt included at all. Howard was selected because Fergie wanted to see him as no 1.
