Unhappy Chris Jericho News

To go along with the storyline, Chris Jericho's profile has been removed from the Raw page because he was fired by Eric Bischoff last night due to the prior stipulation that the loser would be fired. Jericho probably won't be back on WWE programming until sometime in 2006.

That truely sucks, He is supposted to go on tour with his rock band Fozzy and be off of tv for while. I cant believe he's gonna be gone that long tho. Maybe he'll go to SD! who knows. I sure wil miss him.

By the looks of it, his contract really did expire. He signed a short term extension end of July. Seeing as the WWE is having some money problems, I think it's safe to speculate that he's going to be free during his entire tour, though I won't doubt that he'll return to wrestling once the tour is over. He himself is pretty much the opposite of what his character was like the past couple of months. But you just can't do an album tour and a wrestling tour at the same time.

This is gonna be pretty weird. Ever since he debuted six years ago, Jericho has never been gone for any extended period of time. Not with injury, not with other commitments, nothing. He's been at work every week. Not even Triple H, The Rock, Steve Austin, Mick Foley, The Undertaker, etc. can say that. For whatever different reasons, those guys have had to miss long periods of time every now and then.

I already can't wait for him to come back.

Yeah that is true, Jericho is very dedicated to his work. And even before he went to work for the WWE, he was always present in WCW too. Every Nitro, you'd see Jericho walking out to the ring and say "Welcome to Monday Night JERICHO!" And he'd be wearing the T-shirt from Monday Night Nitro with Nitro replaced by his name. And on the back it would say Jerichoholic, and he'd always be making fun of other wrestlers. I remember thinking he was a strange dude, but highly amusing. lol

After he left, Nitro wasn't really the same even though they never let him do the big leagues. His biggest feud on Nitro was with Scott Steiner for the WCW Television title. Great feud though, no doubt. He had a little stint with Goldberg too (used a Gillberg type of guy to make fun of him), but of course he never stood a chance against WCW's molded franchise in the ring. I think that would have been a lot different today.

I actually saw his debut on RAW on TV (yay for me!) and I remember thinking 'I wonder what he'll call this show' and seconds later he goes "Welcome to RAW IS JERICHO!". I was so thrilled to see that, you wouldn't believe. He went in there and did EXACTLY the same thing he always did on Nitro. Dissing The Rock on your debut, that's only something Jericho would pull off.

And look what it got him. He's one of the biggest wrestling stars out there now, his move to the WWF was just perfect, and the timing was perfect too.

He's also been pretty lucky concerning injuries and such. I don't think he ever had anything major going on that would pull him away from TV. Unfortunately that was what pulled Triple H out of the game back in the day when he tore his quad. He was close to having his career end, but he fought to come back to the ring.

I do miss seeing Triple H now - I've always been a fan of the guy, I can't help it. I wonder what he's up to right now.

Not the most flattering picture of Jericho, but there's the shirt I was talking about:

And while looking around, I came across a cool picture of HBK, which Trista will no doubt love:

I also found...

[picture of Jericho and Ralphus here] Fortune City sucks.

That's JPS. Jericho's Protection Squad. It says so on the shirt too. He writes that on there himself with a pen.

LMAO Jericho's so amusing. And to think he was actually a heel there.

OMG Stinger! That is one hot pic of Shawn!!! but I think Ive seen it before LMAO thats ok, it dont matter. Thank you so much for posting it.

I just seen this on Mr. Y2J:

CHRIS JERICHO ANNOUNCES WWE DEPARTURE AND FUTURE PLANS, INSIDE AND OUT OF PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING
by Mike Johnson @ 8:25:00 PM on 8/25/2005

In a press release that is on Chris Jericho's official website dated 8/22 but not actively linked from the main page of the website, Jericho announces that he has left World Wrestling Entertainment for other endeavors.

In the statement, Jericho writes, "I eventually had my first match on Oct 2, 1990 in Ponoka, Alberta….and on August 22, 2005 in Hampton, Virginia, I had my last match. For now. Yes it’s true. After months of speculation and rumors and numerous decoys and red herrings being thrown about, the official news from the boss man (me) is that I am leaving the WWE." Jericho noted that after wrestling for 15 years, he was mentally burnt out and that he is a "goal oriented person who thrives on a challenge and I’m not challenged by wrestling at this point in time," noting that he has accomplished everything he ever wanted to do in the business.

Jericho noted that at this point, he is going to focus on his rock band Fozzy and his satellite radio show while also going out on auditions for acting parts, noting that he's filmed a role for a Sci-Fi Channel film that will air next year. Jericho will also continue to make appearances on VH-1's Best Week Ever.

In regard to his future in the wrestling business, Jericho wrote, "Whether I do achieve success outside of wrestling or I don’t, I can say one thing for sure…I’m not retiring from the wrestling business. Too many people over too many years have said that and have constantly returned. I’m not leaving the WWE for good, I’m not leaving wrestling for good. When I’m ready to come back I will. It may be one month, it may be one year, but when the time is right, I’ll know and I will return and be better than ever...I wouldn’t think of returning any other way.

You won’t see me doing any conventions or indie shots in the meantime. If I’m going to be in the wrestling biz, it will be with the WWE. I’m a member of the WWE family for the rest of my life…just like the mafia…and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my company. So you won’t see me doing any shoot interviews either. Why would I? Vince and I have accomplished a lot of awesome things together and I have nothing but respect for him."

Of course, that leaves a question of why there's a graphic of him in front of TNA's logo out in the open? Hmmm weird

God, I sure am gonna miss him now!!! I wil always remember his fued with HBK, it was one of the best matches I have even seen @ WM19 and the fued was just "sigh" Great!! I wish him the best of luck, no doubt. We'll all miss you Chris!!!!

Also...a few lines from an interview with Jericho and The Rock that I just happened to find pretty funny.

Michael Cole: An interesting situation, Chris Jericho, Rock, in a few minutes you guys will meet eachother to determine the #1 Contender for the WWF Championship and the winner will get a shot Thursday night on Smackdown! against the champion Kurt Angle.

Jericho: Hold on just one second, Mitchell Cole. This is not an interesting situation, not an interesting situation at all. This is RAW...IS...JERICHO! And what that means is...

(Rock stops Jericho, pulls the mic to him, and speaks)

The Rock: Finally...The Rock...has come BACK...to Boston! You know The Rock says that tonight's the night.

(Jericho interrupts Rock and pulls the mic back to him)

Jericho: I don't give a brahma bull's ass what The Rock has to say. You with your unibrow, and your "Just Bring It." Bring what? A vomit bag? A fig newton? Or how about a Y2J telling you to shut the hell UP?! Because all that matters is that tonight, Y2J will become the #1 Contender...

(Rock cuts off Jericho)

Rock: Let The Rock understand this. You actually THINK you're gonna beat The Rock tonight? You're gonna become #1 Conternder? Is that what you think?

Jericho: Not just think, I know...

Rock: IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT YOU THINK! The only thing that matters is that....

(Jericho cuts him off again)

Jericho: No no no no, Rock. You're wrong. The only thing that matters is that I've tasted WWF gold. I've tasted it and I love it. And I want it again. And the only thing that matters is that the coffee-fearing Kane isn't in the arena to spoil my chances. And the thing that matters more than anything else is that every single Jerichoholic and every single one at home wants to see the WWF Championship around my waist again. (Rock and Jericho stare at eachother for about 5 seconds) IF YA SMEEEEEELLLLLLLL what Y2J....*Jericho makes fun of Rock's hand-turning-the-face shtick and then whispers* is cookin.

I love it. He made fun of everyone. Face, heel, Vince, everyone.

Lol yeah that's funny. Love the nicknames. That's typical Jericho there. Though it appears more people call Edge Edgeward. It says so in his interview I posted a few days ago.
