Default Bundesliga 2005-2006

I’ve made one already, still three to go. The German Competition is due to start the first weekend of August. And we all can’t live without a wienerschnitzel, the word scheisse and the big amount of glasses beer. Germany kicks off again!

Bayern Munich and Felix Magath have survived all the beer and I’m sure they have a tough season ahead of them. Ofcourse there’s the coach (Magath), the strikers (Makaay, Pizarro, Guerrero), the midfield (Schweinsteiger, Ballack, Deisler, Demichelis), the defense (Lucio, Ismael), the keeper (Kahn), but Bayern Munich winning the title for the 2nd consecutive time? I have my doubts, but I let Bayern prove me wrong.

Stuttgart have Giovanni Trappatoni and I’m very positive that they now will be able to reach the CL. That Italian man is one hell of a trainer. He has proved his value last year in Portugal. Furthermore, there’s Schalke 04 (Kuranyi), Werder Bremen (Frings), Stuttgart. And how will Bayer Leverkusen, Herta, Hamburger and Dortmund (the typical UEFA Cup contenders) do?

FC Koln have the best, fantasic and most amazing player since a long time, Lucas Podolski. I have good hope they will survive. Not only because of their squad, but also because Nurnberg, Gladbach, Mainz and the other 2 promoted teams (Duisburg, Eintracht Frankfurt) aren’t as good as Koln are.

Liga Pokal Final
Schalke 1-0 Stuttgart

Friday 5th August
Bayern Munich – Borrusia M’Gladbach

Saturday 6th August
Hamburger – Nurnberg
Koln – Mainz
Duisberg – Stuttgart
Wolfsburg – Dortmund
Hannover – Herta
Werder Bremen – Arminia Bielefeld

Sunday 7th August
Frankfurt – Bayer Leverkusen
Schalke – Kaiserslautern

Hannover 96 – Herta BSC is the most interesting match in the first weekend. Here, I also don’t see any surprises when it comes to the big clubs.

I hope Bayern do it but can they hang on to Michael Ballack?

Bayern Munich have handed young defender Philipp Lahm a massive vote of confidence by extending his contract until 2009 despite his current deal still having two years to run. I am glad Bayern extended it.

Default Re: Bundesliga 2005-2006

Saturday 6th August
Cologne 1-0 Mainz
Duisberg 1-1 Stuttgart
Hamburger 3-0 Nurnberg
Hannover 2-2 Hertha Berlin
Werder Bremen 5-2 Arminia Bielefeld
Wolfsburg 2-2 Dortmund

Bremen, Bayern and Hamburger lead the way after one match.

Cologne are off to a good start by beating one of the teams they'll be fighting against to stay up. Duisberg pulled off an even better result IMO though!

Thanks for the reminder, but I was pretty busy and had to work all day last Saturday, so I missed it. I did predict the Belgian & French League though.

Das Phantom already scored 2 goals. If he continues this way, he'll score 68 times this year! Klasnic, Klose and Barbarez made two goals as well.

You still have 20 minutes until Sundays matches start .. and Frankfurt - Leverkusen has a x3 multiplier, so you could get 9 points for that match!

Done.

$teauA gained 76 points in the UEFA PL? It's good to see I'm still in the top 3.

That's nothing compared to the 100+ I scored in one round last season!

The start of this seasons PL is a little slow for me, but I'm only 25-30 behind what I had this time last season. I'm confident of being able to pull off a very high score in either leg of QR2! I just hope the teams play how their rankings suggest.
