Club Brugge:
Has always been my fav team and we're doing damn well again. It has been 5 years since we won our last title and the previous 4 seasons, we always ended #2 and it's getting damn frustrating. We should be able to pull off the big one again this year. They still have 2 points more than the #2, with a having game played less. Best defence, hasn't lost yet.
Lierse:
One of the big surprises so far this season. A medium club with a medium budget, 'doomed' to have a role somewhere around #10-#14. But not anymore ... the chairman brought in Emilio Ferrara, one of the best Belgian managers and see where they are now. They bring very well organized, attractive soccer and they win against the big teams. I wonder where their story will end. Very solid defence.
St-Truiden:
No doubt about them, they're the most attractive team currently playing. They score loads of goals (most of them all) and they create loads of chances. Their season is already a success, cause their goal was to stay free from relegation.
Lokeren:
A.k.a. Africa United. They normally play with 8 or 9 Africans, but they're great players. For the last 3 seasons they have been in the top 5 and this season doesn't seem to be anything else.
RC Genk:
Champion of last year, again big title contender this year. They are only in 5th right now, cause they had a very tough number of fixtures to play recently. They had to play in the Champions League, against AS Roma & Real Madrid for example. If they still wanna have a word to say in the title fight, they'll have to start about right now.
Anderlecht:
Main title contender, biggest club of Belgium (budget wise), but they have been playing very bad so far. They have a great manager, who has a multi talented, very wide squad ... a bit too wide actually. The manager hasn't found the perfect combination of 11 yet and some players haven't reached their normal form yet. They're already 8 points behind on Brugge, with a game more played. It's gonna get tough for them to come back.
Bergen:
Another big surprise. They were predicted to be fighting against relegation all season. Instead, they're at a terrific 7th place. They're very strong at home. Young squad with a few older players who lead the team.
Germinal Beerschot:
Nothing too spectacular, a medium team. They're at their normal position in the table.
La Louvière:
Is completely free from relegation worries and can keep building their team.
Moeskroen:
Expected in the top 5. They've had loads of serious injuries so far. Their defence is playing very weak. They score a lot, but they conceide even more goals.
Antwerpen:
Is completely free from relegation worries and can keep building their team.
AA Gent
Should be competiting for European football. Many new players and a new coach, still seeking their best form.
Lommerl
Relegation future, not saved yet.
Beveren:
Relegation future, not saved yet.
KV Mechelen:
Probably won't be able to finish the current season. Loads of debts and money issues.
Standard:
They were one of the biggest title contenders at the start of the competition. But they've been playing very bad so far. No structure, no organisation, ... they're still in relegation for problems (for a team with the second biggest budget in Belgium!)
Westerlo:
Relegation future, not saved yet. Weakest offense.
Charleroi:
More than miracles will be needed to save them ... weakest defence, hasn't won yet.
