Sunday night at a SmackDown live event, World Heavyweight Champion Batista injured his triceps in a match against Mark Henry.
The extent of the injury is undetermined at this point. WWE.com will have more information on Batista's injury later today.

Damn, now Batista won't be able to defend his title anymore ...
Nothing new there actually. 
Couple of months ago it was reported that he injured his back, when more details came along, it turned out to be nothing. | |

Exactly. It might not be too big a deal. A back injury is more serious than a triceps injury, and Batista got through the back thing. Everything might be okay. I certainly hope it will be. | |

Yeah I just seen this on a wrestling site Im always on and the BatistaOnline.com forums. My poor baby!!  THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!! GOD, I hope he is Ok.  He better be, I dont want him dropping the World Title esp to Mr. Fat ass! | |

Oh believe me. Mark Henry is NOT becoming World Champion. If Smackdown! has to improvise and crown a new champion, there will be a tournament or something of the sort and the winner will be someone like Orton, Benoit, or Undertaker.
But rest assured, NOT Mark Henry. | |

The next SmackDown champ will probably be Orton.
I hope it's not yet Taker's turn, because I'm afraid once Taker he drops the title, his (final) retirement will be a fact. | |

Tonight at the SmackDown television taping in Philadelphia, Batista’s torn right triceps forced him to relinquish the World Heavyweight Championship over to General Manager Theodore Long.
Long immediately declared that there would be a Battle Royal tonight to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion.
