June 13th, 2005


The 2005 Draft Lottery is now over. Throughout the month of June, both WWE rosters were hit with monumental changes, starting with the WWE Champion get picked to compete on RAW and ending with the World Heavyweight Champion moving to SmackDown! Below are the full results of the 2005 WWE Draft Lottery.

June 6th: RAW drafts John Cena
June 9th: SmackDown! drafts Chris Benoit

June 13th: RAW drafts Kurt Angle
June 16th: SmackDown! drafts Randy Orton

June 20th: RAW drafts Carlito
June 23rd: SmackDown! drafts Muhammad Hassan
June 27th: RAW drafts Big Show & Rob Van Dam
June 30th: SmackDown! drafts Christian & Batista

Keep in mind that all picks in the 2005 WWE Draft Lottery were drawn at random. RAW drew from the SmackDown! roster of Superstars. SmackDown! drew from the RAW roster of Superstars.

All RAW and SmackDown! Superstars were eligible to be drafted, including champions, Divas, announcers and even General Managers.

Additionally, General Managers were allowed to trade Superstars up until Midnight on June 30th. Click here to view the 11-person trade that went down.

RAW and SmackDown! agree to 11-person deal
June 30th, 2005




WWE.com has learned that RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff and SmackDown! General Manager Theodore Long have agreed on a blockbuster 11-person deal that will likely have a big impact on both rosters.

RAW brand gets:

Mark Jindrak: Former WCW Tag Team Champion
Rene Dupree: Former WWE Tag Team Champion; former World Tag Team Champion
Danny Basham: Two-time former WWE Tag Team Champion
Kenzo Suzuki (with Hiroko): Former WWE Tag Team Champion
Chavo Guerrero: Five-time former Cruiserweight Champion; two-time former WWE Tag Team Champion

SmackDown! brand gets:

William Regal: Four-time former WCW Television Champion; three-time former Hardcore Champion; four-time former European Champion; former Intercontinental Champion; four-time former World Tag Team Champion
Candice: 2004 RAW Diva Search contestant
Sylvain Grenier: Four-time former World Tag Team Champion
Simon Dean: Former RAW sponsor
Steven Richards: Former two-time ECW Tag Team Champion; former 21-time Hardcore Champion

I don't know why Bischoff would want Kenzo Suzuki. He was worthless before he disappeared. Nobody's heard from him in months. But Renee Dupree came over too. So maybe they'll keep their tag team alive.

I liked the way the draft picks went down. But I'm not so sure about the trade. They split up the Bashams as well as Simon Dean and Maven, which really isn't a good idea, considering the tag team divisions are in such horrible shape.

My question is.. how the hell did Bischoff know which of the two Bashams to pick!

I thought drafting Batista was pretty obvious, and I'm not too sure if I like it. Gotta see how this plays out, but I think Raw would have been cooler with both titles.

What's Triple H gonna do? His preeeecious went to SmackDown!
