Default Yearbook Cover?

Hello.
Well, This year I took yearbook. And we were talking about what kind of theme we wanted. I raised my hand and thought we should make an 80's theme. It would be very colorful, and not borring like the other yearbooks. Yeah well, anyway, i asked 3 friends today on aim.. and I asked if they liked it or not.

I also thought we could have then and now flashbacks in popculture of 1984, and school history from it also. I thought It would be a good idea, but we'll see. Ok,

Now, 2 of them said yes, and one of them said it was ok because it was too colorful. Now I want your opinion. If this were to be your yearbook, would you like it? Please be 100% honest, and try not to make your answer so.. hostile. Tell me what you think of this. Your likes and dislikes..

Tell me what you like, what you dont, and what you can chnage. Be honest also.

I think that sounds like an excellent idea, and I love the cover

But what's "Nitro Style"? I think I'm missing something...?

I don't know, I always thought the yearbook was supposed to be reflective of the time in high school. I think if I were to get one with an 80's theme and look back on it 15 years from now, I'd be disillusioned by the 80's theme and it'd be hard to focus on 2004/2005

but with that said, I like the cover a lot, the colors and font look really good, one suggestion: I would add a third star (the same size as the left) on the right of the big star, it'd balance things more, just a suggestion

Joe

Thanks.

Nitros are the school maskots..

BTW, Its not gonna be all about the 80s, just little portions.. they will be like like small comparisons from then and now, but its gonna be about 2004/2005. But 95% of it is gonna be about today. Just having little flashback parts will be the other half. When I say 80s I mean like the colors.. like on I love the 80s.

^^We've always had things like that in our yearbooks at my high school. Every year there would be like "Then & Now" sections where they would compare the students/school/faculty to what was in place 10 years ago or so. It's sort of neat, I think.

I think it's a pretty cool theme, but the cover is a bit too bright for me. I wouldn't really want to carry a big orange book around school. I'd want something that looks professional.

I dont know, Joe. I spent a lot of my final weeks of high school reflecting on the time when I began school. Which mostly took place in the 80's. Albeit, the people in school now, probably have little to no recollection of what the 80's were, as they barely lived through them.

Possum, on a sidenote, your theme is kind of hypocritcal, in that you state "Spread love, not hate like Green Day" though you're hating on Green Day. Also, you're calling Green Day idiots, which is bashing. And on a last note, that song fucking rocks <3

I agree on the Green Day theme. I still wanna know whats up with that.. lol

Can your school afford such a colourful yearbook? What I mean by that is, yeah, they may have the money, but have new books been supplied, is there a breakfast program, and adequate afterschool programs?

I know my old highschool couldnt afford a colourful yearbook. Ours was always black and white.

You know, I never thought about that. We only ever had one colored year book, but that was only because they used purple paper. So it was Black and Purple. I think, though, that the US has more funding for their schools than Canada, so they might have more for that. You always see in the movies the high school football teams playing in these stadium-like fields, with all these bright lights lighting up the field and such. I've never seen that around.

Yeah, I mean, its fine if the cover is colourful, but he said he wanted to do a more colourful yearbook, meaning the entire thing. My school did 3 full colour pages one year and it cost a lot of money.
