like do you do it after you are done with the picture or before? and how do you get them to not have white in the background

You crop them, I guess you can do it before or after you're done with the picture

And to not have the white background go to File > Export > GIF Optimizer.

my crop only has rectangle shapes, how do I get different shapes, sorry, I['m not the quickest one on the forums

Are you using Paint Shop Pro 7 or Photoshop?

Also you're supposed to use the freehand tool to crop it.

my tutorial tells you how to get the straight angled lines. and its for psp. just incase. And yeah you make the blend first and then cut it up cuz it would be really really hard to make a blend and have to stay within those lines lol.
