Welcome to the Artwork & Creations forum. This is a forum with heavy member activity and will require some rules to keep it running smoothly. We are focussing on the following aspects of the forum:
› Keeping it together
› Searching
› Challenges
› Respect
› Keeping it decent
1. Keeping it together
Within threads and the A&C forum, please try to keep things together. This will prevent the forum from becoming messy and cluttered. We have various types of topics:
- Request threads A - When a member makes a request for a blend, avatar, or theme, please post your creations within that thread. Also, when you're the member someone made a creation for, don't go make a new thread to ask what people think of the blend that was made for you, but rather allow people to comment in the thread where you requested it.
- Request threads B - When you are taking requests, unless the request thread you made has had no posts in 7 days, please continue to use it. In the past, users have simply created new request threads when they felt that their thread was getting too long. Try avoid doing that.
- How's my theme? - When you post a topic asking for opinions on your theme (assuming that you had no prior thread), be ready for real opinions. Not everyone says "It's nice" so you might get some feedback, and it might not always be what you wanted to hear. Bear in mind that these people are not trying to attack you, they are just giving advice.
- Posting multiple blends and projects - If you are going to be posting some work you have done, please keep it all to one thread. If you decide to post three threads for three blends, we'll go ahead and merge them into one. This ensures that the forum is not flooded and other people can still find their threads to get back to.
2. Searching
Please don't make multiple threads about the same thing. A lot of members make new threads because they aren't able to find their old one(s). If you use the search function at the bottom of the page and search for your user name, you should be able to find it.
3. Challenges
Challenges are run by the members who think them up. The general idea of a challenge is to sharpen your skills in various areas, and having fun while doing it. A challenge closes after a given deadline, and will be followed by a voting where Artwork fans in the community will get to vote for the creation(s) they identify with most. There can be an issue with favoritism, but if you plan a contest out well in a way that avoids this problem, it can be a lot of fun. There's no restriction, except of course no fighting with eachother.
Please remember not to take offense to the outcome of a voting. If your creation happens to get no votes, it doesn't mean that nobody likes it. Members are only given one vote, however they usually like more than just one creation.
4. Respect
Please state your opinions respectfully. Having an opinion is one thing, but stating it in a way that someone can actually do something with it, requires just as much skill as putting a creation together in the first place. So if you find that you lack the skill of being constructive with your criticism, then we'd rather not hear about your opinion at all, until you have learned to master this skill.
5. Keeping it decent
In the past, we've experienced those who liked to balance on the edge of what can and can't. We do not allow nudity. Not in any shape or form. Posting nudity will result in punishment on the first violation. Please be sure to read
Mature content in threads and posts in case you have any questions.
If you have any questions or ideas regarding these rules, feel free to PM the moderator of this forum to let us know. Thanks for reading and happy posting.
