Although i disagree with France's ruling, they aren't trying to get rid of religion. I suspect the motivation behind this decision was to stamp out Islam, not get rid of religion altogether. However, large crufixes and yarmelkes were banned to make it seem fair. Radical Islam is a big problem getting out of hand fast in France and the rest of Europe.

The reason it wasn't allowed is because Judge Moore wheeled in the monument in the dead of night without permission from anyone. If the people of Alabama wanted it there that is one thing, but you can't allow judges to just wheel in monuments on a whim.

"Under God" wasn't even in the original pledge of allegiance so this is a non-issue. The "under God" portion is a relic of the Communist witch hunts.

The minority should have protection from the tyranny of the majority. There are also religions that do not say the word God out loud nor do they write it out.

Agreed. As long as you don't tried to convert me, you can wear a helicopter beanie for all i care. However, it becomes a sticky issue when you have one group (Muslims) acting like hooligans and harassing the native population.

Acoording to dictionary.com, a liberal is defined as:

# Favoring proposals for reform, open to new ideas for progress, and tolerant of the ideas and behavior of others; broad-minded.
So, under this definition you would define yourself as a liberal since you are tolerant of differing religions than yours.
I know what you are getting at and that is leftist liberals. Remember that the founding fathers of the U.S. were classical liberals. There is a difference. Yes, i am anal ,but i wasn't going to start a topic on it. It is a common mistake.
