Okay. Since this thread has wildly changed topics to that of religion, with a lot of confusion, I will add my two cents here.
First of all, Genesis only says that God created Adam and Eve. It does not mention creating everyone else at that time. Therefore, He may or may not have created the various races later, or else EVERYONE might have come from Adam and Eve's children (with lots of interbreeding between their children going on there). The Bible does not say if He made other races at that time or not. I tend to think He did not.
Secondly, the unforgivable sin is a difficult question. I've read about that in the Bible and can't really figure out which of two things it is. I tend to think the unforgivable sin is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit, while blaspheming against God or Jesus is forgivable, though still a bad sin. Also, it could be suicide is the unforgivable sin, but what if you purposely did suicide to save millions and millions of lives? (like, inside a rocket launching towards a people and you detonate it before it reaches destination to save lives) I think in special cases it would be forgivable, and maybe in all--that I am not sure of. Being gay or bi is NOT the unforgivable sin. It is a sin, but is forgivable.
Thirdly, actually, I was somewhat ambiguous above. Being gay or bi is not actually a sin, but persuing a gay or bi relationship with another person is, I think. (Actually, the Bible doesn't specify whether actually being gay or bi is a sin, but does specify that those relationships with others are sins). Which means it might be a sin to be that way, but I'm thinking is only a sin to pursue it. (Is open to interpretation)
Also, since marriage is a religious institution, unless gays and bis have created their own sort of alternate religion which has marriage as a part of it, it seems pointless. It cannot be a Christian marriage by the very definition of a Christian marriage. If there is some other religion which has marriage and allows gays to marry embedded in that religion, then they could marry under that religion.
I am against a gay marriage taking place in a Christian church as that is against the Christian faith, but I suppose if they want to get married in a courtroom with a state marriage license from a judge that they can do that if they like. |
