You really should realize that, though you don't believe in him, there are people that believe in him whole-heartedly, and very passionately. In fact, there are people that DEPEND upon him being a reality to live. Thats just the way some people are. A comment like that can be extremely devastating. Believe me, I've made a friend cry because I made him question his faith in God. I didnt do it on purpose, I was discussing my theories on things like space and time, and my logical ways of thinking caused him to question his faith: something that isn't very logical at all. And seeing how scared he got, I've really learned to be more careful with talking like that.

There may be a God, you don't know. Just as much as they can't prove there is a God, you can't prove there is no God. Just keep that in mind.

Like Karen said, I don't believe in him personally, but there are those who do, and those who need to. So be more careful with not what you say, but how you say it. I may not believe in him, but I believe in the possibility of him.

And that is for the same reason that Daniel (GODspeed) is trying to defend: keeping an open mind. So, although you think you're trying to help Daniel with his arguement, you're really contradicting it, because your comment was a very close-minded one.
