Certain Christians are told to go out and minister to people they care about. Ministering, in my eyes, does come off a little high and mighty when you're trying to inform people about a certain religion. The people listening either say "No, I know all about that" or "I've known that, but how does it affect me?" or other things that differ...Christians and I'm sure many other religions go around asking people if they'd like to hear about their specific religion. Living by a religion endures a priceless amount of faith and willpower. Anyone (and there are quite a few) can go around saying "I love Jesus!" and then go and cuss up a storm, and that's not exactly keeping your tongue cleansed or go and sleep with five people, and that isn't staying true to what you believe. And then people are like, well, I got Jesus to forgive me. Sure, everyone sins. It's in the Bible that everyone falls short to the glory of God. All in all, religion is full of hypocrites. Their lives don't reflect their religion and in my opinion, I'd rather them go and sleep around and live their lives how they want, but just don't mention God or Jesus in any of your sentences, because it is disrespectful, and dishonoring even yourself to say it. One of the Ten Commandments says not to say the Lord's name in vein, but what do people do? They go around saying G-Damnit, JesusChrist (as if it's slang). That not only puts me in a piss-poor mood but makes me not want to talk to you. I'm not going to tell you to stop cussing, I'm not gonna tell you what you're doing is wrong, but I will tell you that respecting me as a person is not saying those words in my face, or ever. And yes, some don't realize they're even saying it - pathetic.
I posted from my viewpoint, that's all I was doing in this thread. I believe that homosexuality is something learned that can be unlearned. And it may not be any of my business, but it's a topic that everyone has talked about, whether it is anybody's business or not. It will never be fully accepted, because of the many different personalities in the world.
I think I may have said this, but I know gay people, and I have nothing against them. I don't go up to them and tell them their lives suck, or that they're gonna go to hell when they die. I don't perform hate crimes. Even though, I would never do it, I have nothing against them. I have my own theory on homosexuality, but does that make me prejudice? No.
Offensive or not. Take this post with as much salt as you want.
