As for Justin, he's from Memphis, TN, and if you know anything about Memphis, you'd know there is a very large black population so he was exposed to a culture different than his "white culture" when he was growing up. It's not unnatural that he might pick up things from the people he lived next to during his childhood.

He's been like that even before *NSYNC. He was singing R&B songs on MMC. It's what he grew up around. You can't control what you grow up around.
