Justin AND JC wrote songs for NSync. While they didn't have a lot of input, they had more than the others and had some over the record company. NSync was on hiatus for some time too, though. Besides, you just defended Gwen by saying that in a group/band you don't always have full credibility...maybe Justin wanted that. Jive marketed NSync as "Justin and 4 other guys" so you really can't put blame on him for being the spotlight, that's all due to marketing and whatnot. But like in any group, leaders emerge, it's natural. Also, you can't expect boybands like NSync and BSB to stay around forever. People grow up, mature, want to move on to bigger and better things, or just other things in general. If Justin hadn't gone solo when he did, he would have eventually anyway, so what's the big deal?

Gwen and Tony pretty much wrote all of No Doubts songs. There was input from the other members as well, but they were the main two...I don't see how credibility would be an issue there since she was pretty much half of the song writing team.
