We sat down with Britney to talk about love (how to get over heartache[, life (she loves to shop) and her new album!
The '"Cry Me A River" Scandal It was a little awkward, a little weird at first, but people have to deal with things in certain ways, and maybe that's the way Justin had to deal with what was going on. Advice For Girls In Her Shoes Just always remember that girls hurt worse, but guys hurt longer. Girls deal, get over it and once you're done, you are done. But guys hurt longer. Getting Back At Him Oh, no. I would never kiss and tell. I just think that's so self-serving and distasteful. And I just think once you put yourself out there...With the last album, I got a little personal. I touched on a personal, vulnerable side just a little bit. I think it's a cool thin to do sometimes, but I think sometimes you need to take care of yourself and leave some things for you. Dealing With Heartache Get a bunch of girlfriends around. Have fun. Painful but Delightful Breakup Music I don't like sappy music when I'm going through heartache. I would just have an emotional breakdown and just completely cry! Upbeat music gets me through. Madonna's Immaculate Collection, . "Express Yourself," "Live To Tell," "Cherish," "Holiday," all those songs. Old '80's music is really good for breakups. Moving On When you're dating someone, it's give and take. That's what a relationship is all about. But once you're single, it's nice again to be kind of like 'You know what, I'm going to do what I want to do. I'm not going to ask you what movie to see, I'm going to go see a movie I want to see.' It's that feeling of independence, which is cool. Love Lessons Love is such a funny thing to me. It's a beautiful thing, but sometimes I look at love and it's like, the feeling of just being so vulnerable and letting someone in...it's so beautiful, but at the same time, once your worlds don't really meet...Sometimes you can be completely in love with someone, but you're at two different places in your life, and you just don't sync up, and it's a really hard thing to cut that off sometimes. But I think it's worth it, too. I think you should go ahead and take the risk and take a chance and put yourself out there because it's an amazing feeling. To get her mind off boys, Brit says she loves to shop at her fave stores Urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. (w/ the new album photo)
The New Britney I think I'm still kind of the same person, but' I'm just a little more experienced with what I'm doing. With my music, being in the studio for so long, I know where I'm coming from artistically in a better way. From experience, you become a little bit more comfortable in your skin. This album is something that I had to do for me, so as long as I'm happy with it and I really believe in it, I think that's what matters. Like you, stars also deal with... ...killing time at the airport!

Nah, Britney simply happened to run into Jared at Dolce Restaurant (Ashton Kutcher's digs). So, they're not dating? 'Oh God no," says Britney. "Jared and I are totally just friends.!"

Yup, she did! Britney tells
M that she was checking out the crowd in a NYC dance club with friends when she got the idea to play a few new tunes from her upcoming CD. "I'm not normally the type of person to do stuff like that," says Britney. But she was was curious to see how people would react. "I was nervous!" says Brit. "Surprisingly, their fave song was the one I thought they'd like least!"
