GWEN is going solo?!?!? WTF??? I remember back when Tragic Kingdom came out, she made a big deal about them being a GROUP and not just a SINGER. That seriously pisses me off...
But to be a little hipocritical here....*lol* I don't think going solo is always a bad thing. In the case of Gwen I think it is just because they made such a big deal about them being a GROUP. But yeah, people only tend to look at going solo as "selfish" when that solo career turns out to be hugely successful.
Nsync: Justin went solo and had tremendous success...he got ripped on for "leaving what made him famous." and being "too good for the other guys." JC also put out a solo album that didn't go anywhere and he doesn't get any flack for it.
BSB: Nick and AJ both have solo careers. AJ was doing his Johnny No Name act while he was making an album and touring with BSB. However, neither of their solo attempts were widely successful so no one really bothered to call them selfish or anything.
Dentiny's Child: Both Kelly and Beyonce did solo projects but Beyonce got more fam and she was the selfish one, while Kelly [like JC], got no flack for it.
BonJovi: Both Jon and Richie went on solo stints while the group was on hiatus. They both put out one solo album and Jon was a little more successful than Richie, but neither of them were tremendously successful and neither of them got dissed for it.
