| Re: W Readers Reactions To Britney Cover And Interview. | | Quote: I was looking forward to reading W every month. Your August issue was a treat, as usual. I thought I was having deja vu when I saw the cover-it looked almost eerily like a recent picture of Heidi Klum on the cover of another magazine- but once I got inside, I was stunned by the beautiful photographs of Britney Spears ("Burning Britney"). Never much of a fan of Britney's I was nonetheless enthralled by the edginess and raw passion that leaped off the page and grabbed me.
In photos of Gisele in a mosh pit or Madonna striking a pose, W offers the most startling and compelling images of any magaine today . It's a welcome thrill for those of us who still recognize the power of glossies, even an era that probably has the legendary editixies and photographers of the past spinning in their graves.

I cannot believe you would sink so low as to publish an article about a pop star and her sex life . One would think those at W's helm had more class than to print something so trashy! Britney Spears is detrimental to the magazine's reputation, as I'm sure you'll discover when the flagging sales reports for this issue come in.

Uhm whatever. This issue would be one of the most succesful because it sold out in many places and it got more attention than the other issues so go back eating your steak "Tiffany"

It seem to me that Britney Spears is not only trying too hard to reinvent herself this time around, but trying to win America's sympathy as well. I think it's bogus that she told W that Justin Timberlake sold her out. His answer to Barbara Walters was a vague one, and if she was so hurt by the content of that interview, why did she wait for months- until just before releasing her new album- to talk about it? It all feels manufactured to me, and I'm just Not Buying it.
