So on August 4th, I got to go to Mick Foley's book signing for
Tietam Brown. It was a lot of fun. A friend of mine and I had line tickets for the first group to get to go listen to Mick. We went in to this separate room in the bookstore where there was a group of about 75 people and Mick was standing in front of us all speaking about the book, what it's about and what it means to him.
After he spoke for about 15 minutes, he spent roughly 10 minutes reading from the book and explaining some of the meaning of what he was reading. Then he spent about 5 minutes taking questions. After that, we got to get in line to meet Mick and get our books signed.

Then on Tuesday night, before going to the Smackdown! tapings, my friends and I went to meet Good Ol' J.R. in Brentwood. He was about 15 minutes late. He got caught in traffic coming from the Savvis Center. But we didn't mind. It was great meeting him. I talked to him for a minute about Gordon Solie, the man he considers the best wrestling announcer of all time. He also personalized my book and we shook hands. That was a great time. It was my absolute pleasure to meet him.

Then we went to Smackdown!, which was awesome. We had seats 6 rows from the ring. If our seats were 1-3, we would be right next to the entrance ramp and we would've definitely been on TV. But they were seats 14-16. So no luck on the TV thing, and it was a little harder to see. Also, I spilled soda on my sign, completely ruining it. That pissed me off because I think my sign was really good enough to be on TV. It said, "JOHN CENA IS MY EBONICS TEACHER." But that couldn't ruin my mood because it was a great show.
Before the Velocity tapings, there were two dark matches. One involved a wrestler that I think was just one of the coolest characters I've ever seen. His name was Mortis. It's hard to describe him. But he was masked (it was a creepy looking mask by the way). His music was kind of Phantom-of-the-Opera-ish. I'm sorry, he's just really hard to describe. But the crowd was totally behind him even though his opponent was from St. Louis. And his finishing move was absolutely SICK! So awesome!
I didn't get very good pictures. Lighting issues. Anyway, Smackdown! ended on TV with Vince and Sable making out in front of Stephanie. But after the cameras stopped rolling, A-Train was preparing to do further damage to Stephanie. But Undertaker came back to the ring and cleaned house, delivering a chokeslam to A-Train. Taker then picked up Stephanie and carried her away. They stopped at the top of the ramp and turned to the crowd and Stephanie flashed the most beautiful smile. DAMN! I wish I'd got a picture of the big screen with Steph on it. But my cameras were done.
Anyway, I had a good time.
Here are a couple pictures. Like I said, they didn't all turn out very well. And I could only get two pics done that didn't look like absolute dogshit when they scanned through. So here they are.
