Unless it is explicitly written in the founding documents, then the religion of the people is irrelevant. If this were a Christian nation, then the provisions for freedom of religion and no religious tests for office would not exist. A theocracy, like Saudi Arabia, forces everyone to conform to things such as Islamic dress regardless of religion. Not so in America. You aren't forced to be Christian to hold office or even believe in God.

Nice try, but no cigar. Some Nazis probably did think that God was on their side. Some of the Allies thought the same thing. Who is right? Nobody. Unless you are God, then it is presumptious to decide what "side" he is on.

Freedom of speech as well and just because it contradicts what you believe that doesn't mean that I can't say what I want. I am a Deist. I have zero problem with people who are Christian or otherwise that practice their religion. Just don't push it on me. In case you haven't noticed, the United States foreign policy on Israel is based on the Christian belief. Also, Remember Bush and his "faith-based initatives". Don't forget School Prayer and Vouchers. Just a few examples. This is MY tax dollars going to this stuff. So, i would say it is being forced upon me. Voting in my district, is an exercise in futility, but i do it anyway. To be honest, i really dont care what you believe, however i've heard your argument a million different times from different people and felt the urge to respond.
