Pop in the decline? Maybe.
Alas all this crap of RNB is everywhere, like a virus it begins to attack all the other styles.
Singers like Wycleff exploit classics like Pink Floyd's Wish you were here and slaughter the song...
Eminem invites miss Dido and suddenly she gets popular...
It sounds like only rnb/rap artists can now be succesful.

Rock is coming back a bit but its again tainted of rap or rnb (Linking Park include rap in a rock tune... awful!)
Nothing is pure anymore...

Britney still make pure pop... so I hope she will still be succesful.
Sooner or later rnb will be out of fashion!
But for now, new rnb acts keep pouring out like water on a waterfall... impossible to stop them. As they always fade out very fast, we're relieved of their crap quite soon but others come then.

I miss the 80's! The 90's have been really poor in new talents... apart from Britney and some other good ones... we've seen the reign of boysbands that are now loosing ground. Alas the 90's have been the rnb years... + rap years.

But there's still hope... talented singers like S Twain or Faith Hill make good country/pop. The new generation of country girls make a new country really tainted of pop and it seems to work.
As some "dinosaurs" like U2, Sting, AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, The Rolling Stones and some other GREAT bands still release albums, we can still get REAL music.
