Lauri Aus, 1970-2003
Estonian professional Lauri Aus, a member of the Ag2R-Prévoyance team, was killed Sunday morning while training in his native Estonia. The 32 year old rider was hit from behind by truck and thrown from his bike. The driver of the truck is reported to have been under the influence of alcohol. Aus died from his injuries in the ambulance.
Aus spent his entire professional career under the guidance of Ag2R director Vincent Lavenu, having turned pro with Lavenu's former Casino team in 1997. Among his major victories are the Tour du Limousin (1997), Classic Haribo (1998), and the Grand Prix d'Isbergues (1999). Aus was Estonian national champion in 2000, claiming both the road and time trial events.
A minute of silence will be held in Aus's memory before the start of Tour de France stage 15 in Bagnères-de-Bigorre, where his Ag2R teammates are expected to take the first positions at the head of the peloton.

I hate drunk drivers!! I don't know what's wrong with Estonians. A few weeks ago a drunk man hit one of our most famous reporters... He's in coma right now.
