BMB - I totally agree with you
I find soaps totally boring and depressing, nothing good ever happens, it's just one bad situation after another. TV is meant for ENTERTAINMENT, which is an escapism from real life, so when you make a program that is meant to mimic real life eg) soaps, docu-soaps, reality TV shows, ect, blah ............. then you defeat the primary goal of TV ................ ENTERTAINMENT. It is escapism and so should challenge your mind (dramas, mysterys) excite your imagination (sci-fi and fantasy) amuse you (chat shows, comedys) or just provide entertainment (sports, action film, ect).
