Okay, here's what I think. As you might know, I'm not too fond of these kind of contests, because quite honestly, it's stupid to place posters in categories and compare them with eachother as if certain posters should be better than others. We're all the same here, there is no need to seperate ourselves from eachother by choosing the more popular people. I dislike status differences among groups of people, it be in real life, and online aswell.
However, I see quite a number of people who posted in this thread that like the idea. So I say, if you guys want some fun with your little award thing, you can have it, BUT... under the following circumstances:
1. Do not create more than two topics about it -- one being this topic where you guys can organize it, the other being the actual awards.
2. Please use the participant method -- this means only nominate the people who have let you know they want to participate in these awards. Those people who wish to participate can bring that to your attention in this thread.
3. Please make sure everybody is aware of the fact that these awards are in no way connected to the forum leaders of this board and therefore totally unofficial and created merely for fun, nothing more. The usage of the letters BSN is therefore not reccommended.
Please understand it is not my wish to limit your fun in any way, but I have to set up these terms so there won't be friction between you and the people who agree with the likes of phatkat, midnightman, etc. about it being a popularity contest.
Also, this way, people who do not wish to be judged by anybody about anything and/or want to be left alone in terms of these awards will not be forced to participate anyway. I hope you guys are okay with that. For the rest, have fun and good luck.
