Is there too much luck in soccer? | | Alright well note that this question is coming from someone who lives in a country where soccer isn't very big and I usually only get into it once every four years when the World Cup is on or if Australia's playing - but anyway it strikes me as a game where there's an awful lot of luck and quite often the best team doesn't win...
I guess it does make it a bit exciting but I just find it pretty unfair when a team can be playing really well but lose because of a bad decision or a lucky kick or something. It's pretty obvious at the world cup where there are plenty of 'underdog' teams who are winning based on luck more often than not.
Just interested to hear what more dedicated followers of the sport think - soccer seems a lot more random and based on luck than other sports... personally I like to see the best team win. |
